Meh, if the Sens are in the playoff picture, why not? Dude proved what he can do when he wants to play and that's usually in the playoffs. Would still trade him for Regin 100% of the time.

isn't he a bit more similar to a Regin then to a Weiss? if he was cheap enough (say regin + mid prosepct) could be an interesting experiment. I like the idea that he would probably be cheaper then Weiss.

Guy had 3 goals in the playoffs. Yes I would trade him for PetER Regin.

Id say a Bishop + for Brassard would be close because Mason won't be coming back to Columbus. And Brassard is nothing like Regin. Brassards worst season is better than Regin's best. He also doesn't get injured all the time.

He scores big goals and when he motivated he plays hard and he plays well. He would be a great depth player going into the playoffs and probably a pretty solid signing for some depth up front. I still like Penner but LA has never been a good fit.

Yep, get after Brassard for Bishop + Puempel.

Problem is I'm not sure if Brassard fits with this team. He's soft as tissue to name one thing, but the price will be right I'm sure.

He's not really like Weiss at all. He's a soft as tissue version of Weiss without the leadership.

Still...price is right and Diddle we need help.

Are you saying we could get him for Peter Regin + prospect? Because I'd do that without hesitation. I thought he'd sign here as opposed to Latendresse - and I was fine with that. Big body, 20 goal guy. Yes please.

They play a very similar game.

Take him over Latendresse every day.

Meh, Weiss is much more responsible defensively and has much, much more offensive awareness. I'm not sure what you're seeing.

One way or the other, it's time for Murray to get pro active. Never mind Perry, I now doubt he's going anywhere right now, get on a player who can fill the gap until Spez is back.

Brassard is fine, ROR would be amazing, Penner would be fine. Hopefully he's really kicking tires right now.

I'm seeing a guy that had a ton of ability and offense to his game that has no help. People question why a guy like Spezza had troubles producing with crappy wingers at times, Brassard never has a good winger... ever. Either way, he probably doesn't fit the bill with Turris in the 2nd line spot now.

Sens are probably smart to wait until the end of Feb to see where they are. If they are out of the a playoff spot at that point and show no signs of picking up the pace then maybe you start selling off your players like Bishop and Gonchar.

Maybe, maybe not. I'm of the opinion they should be a little more patient and see where they are at in a couple weeks. Get a way better idea of where things are going for this season at this point.

Maybe. Every time I think that, I think that it's a short season and March is a long way off in terms of games played, but it's also a pretty fair indicator of where we'd stand. It's pretty frightening to have to rely on Karlsson and Anderson though, where's the offense in that?

I hope to heck Michalek wakes up and supports Alfie and Turris a little better. Can't point fingers at Silf or Z-Bad, they've been excellent, but you can point fingers at the 3rd line and even the 4th line and hope they can prove their worth when times are tough and put the puck in the damn net.

Can't really say much about O'Brien or Condra either, they have pulled more then their own weight. Neil has been good on most nights as well.

Greening, Smith, and Michalek are the guys that are MIA.

Smith has been better the last two games I've found, but he can be a lot better too. He needs to be plowing guys into next week, instigating Dung, but he also needs to score. Same with Greening. Every time they step on the ice, the other team should know they're gonna be hit - and hit hard.

This needs to happen - tomorrow. Not next week, tomorrow. More piss and vinegar (and offense) from the 3rd line, or be replaced by O'Brien/Condra/Daugavins - or call up Grant. I'm sure he'd love a chance.
