It's between him and Vasilevski right now. RT @PrinceLuai: @coreypronman [Lehner] best goalie prospect?
Are you %^^&(@# kidding me? He's comparing what Lehner has done in the AHL/NHL to what Vasilevski is doing in the KHL? Jeff Glass has the 4th best SV% in the KHL right now! Jeff Freakin' Glass! I know Lehner has a few years on him so what he is doing is impressive, but he's a few years away from being really tested. There's no way you could put him on the same level with any prospects actually paying -- and playing at an elite level -- in the top leagues here.
For the record, Vasilevski is 3-1 with a .918 SV% and 2.27 GAA.
Don't look at stats, look at skill. Vasilevski is a really good. Not defending Corey Poonman though, he's a Richard.
your argument is a bit weak because you could say "look at (insert career AHL goalie with great stats here) has the ___ best ___ in the AHL right now!"
The only thing I've got to go with this guy is stats. Sorry, but I'm not going to compare a professional player with a resume including the Calder Cup MVP, a few NHL games under his belt with a shutout of the defending Champs and currently the best SV% in the next best league to the NHL, to this guy's junior career, and put them on the same level. In the pros (KHL) he's done alright, but nothing earth shattering. When Jeff Glass can be in the top-five in SV% you know the calibre of the shots is not very high.
Has he got potential? Of course, he says. I'm just saying that, based on what we have seen so far (and this guy Pronman hasn't been over to Russia, so he hasn't seen any more than we have) I can't put them in the same category, let alone same level.
