Ottawa Senators TIDBITS & QUICK HITS!

I'm really wondering how we got Marc Methot for Nick Foligno. It's been 10 games now and Methot hasn't once missed a beat IMO. Why did Columbus do it? He's young, under good contract, great positionally, nice hitter.

I'm in awe when I think at how bad our D would be without him.

Their D is stacked for the most part in Columbus and they needed some vets up front to carry some of the load... the deal made sense from both sides and Foligno is doing well in Columbus by all accounts. Methot has been great for the Sens because he has been put in a position to succeed and been given a very defined role.

Nah, I was watching a fair bit of Columbus when Center Ice was free - and he was average at best.

And yes, I understand the D situation in Columbus, but surely Methot as a stabilizer for The Wiz would have worked allowing Nikitin and Moore or Aucoin as the third pairing. But hey...it worked out for us for sure and hopefully for Columbus as I have a soft spot for them.

EDIT: Not to mention that he and Cowen would be killer together.

That's the type of deal I think Murray will look to make on the blue, strictly a hockey deal. That would make Ottawa's top 4... maybe the best in the NHL in one years time. Not a fan of his contract but it is front loaded a bit so cap hit won't matter but the Sens being on a budget... it would work.

We'll see I guess though, I am sure a prospect and mid round pick would be enough to get Wiznewski if Columbus bombs out again. 3 first round draft picks is crazy though so that might not get it done.

They won't bomb though, there's getting there and now that Davidson is around, he knows that it'll take another year or two for Moore and Savard and even Johansson (sp) to fully reach their potential. And Murray will be there soon enough too.

Then you'll see The Wiz shopped I'm sure. They could use a clear cut top line forward though, doubt they want too many more prospects or tweeners.

Hmm, eventually we'll have to send a D-man down I guess. Lundin will be ready in a week or so I assume.

You can't take Anderson out, no chance. They need the wins. Maybe they give a game to Bishop next week sometime but until the Sens get a comfortable amount of points in the standings you gotta ride him.

Wonder if Bishop's getting any closer to being dealt. Is Calgary gonna ride Irving and Taylor? I wouldn't, but then again they're not the best organization right now, so does it even matter?

Personally I hope so because he's a friend and his brother was one of my best for a while who was a really great player as well.
