Yup, it is on Murray to make a move.

It's pretty obvious Ottawa should be using a goaltender to make a move for a D man at this point too.

My sources tell me Bogo is that D man. Details to follow.

That would be nice.

Then trade Bishop+ for a good player, the onus is on Murray. He should get 'er done. If the fish ain't biting, re-assess in the summer, that's all I can say right now.

Nobody wanted Bishop when we got him at the deadline last year. I doubt much has changed, he is still unproven in the NHL.

If he plays well in the NHL this year, that would change.

I loved the Bishop deal, still do. He's an NHL goaltender too with #1 potential. It's a great problem to have but a problem none the less. They need to move a guy (Anderson or Bishop) and probably have to do it it pretty short order.

They should probably take what they can get for either guy (maybe a conditional 6th) and call it a day. Much easier than sending Lehner back to the AHL.

More fool them though, he came in and posted quite nice numbers in the NHL.

So we trade a 2nd for Bishop and now accept a conditional 6th in return ?

And this is a smart move ? on what planet ?

0.909 SV% isn't great.

And he sucked at shootouts, I don't think he stopped a single attempt.

For his first time playing in the NHL? It's quite good and he'll obviously get more comfortable and better.

Bryan Murray: "We know we're short, as far as a veteran (defenceman) goes...we have 3 or 4 young guys that should be given a look first."

As we figured.

You and Bryan Murray may be on to something.

That's what I was thinking as well? Does Phoenix need a backup goaltender? They have lots of good young D. Pitts does as well.. but they have Vokoun -- they don't need Bishop..

If Murray trades for a D... it will be a young one -- but one that is NHL ready or already playing.

No idea but making a move for the long term on the blueline is the only way you trade any goaltender. Who knows though, I'm not on the phone calls.
