Higher paid, smaller version of Latendresse IMO.

So...we could have both of them for around 5 million dollars? I bet one of them works out - and they both expire at the end of the year.

So between Latendresse and Bouchard we might get a whole year out of them? Not bad at all I guess considering the budget and the alternatives. I don't know if they would just dump him though.

I like him too. Consistent 50-60 point guy. He's been injured so much over the last three years, though. He's missed 149 games over that span. But he did have four healthy seasons in a row prior to that. Shrug

If the Sens need a way to get to the cap, it's not a bad idea. And like Latendresse, if it works out, it is only a good thing. He's not like Latendresse in play at all though, he's a small, speedy, playmaker.

Depends how desperate they (Bruins) are to move him and his cap. Get them to package a pick and it's a deal.

Thomas + 2nd for ??? and ???

Thomas + for future considerations.

Probably not.

A pick, or package of picks, or a couple of players?

How much is he worth to us? Probably not that much.

If we're going to do anything at this point, short of bringing in a top-4 d-man (which seems highly unlikely at this point), it should be for a star winger. Other than that, we're better off with what we have and giving the kids lots of ice time. I think our current roster could squeak us into the playoffs again while giving some of our young forwards good experience in the NHL.

If the Sens can make the playoffs and avoid the Pens... could be a solid run. They are not far off from going after the Bruins in the division and really making some noise. They are a good team.

One big time winger and the Sens will be ultra tough to play against.

I'm not afraid of the Pens and that little sissyboy Crysby. I am glad they didn't get Parise though!

Still really want to add Semin if he'll sign a 2 year contract. Can't help but salivate at him and Spezza and the potential for a lot of goals.

Imagine for 1 second that Nashville put Weber on the trade market and Ottawa acquired him and signed him long term....

Semin in Ottawa? The city that thinks "hard hat and lunchpail" players are stars and that skilled players need to give up offense to back check and battle in the corners?

Why would Semin come here ? he'll get a longer term deal elsewhere (Detroit for example).

I'm not sure what that means but I know that if all Semin does is put up points, people are gonna complain.

That trade would be insane though. Nashville will look to demolish a team in that trade, if Howson's tactics are any clear indication. It'll work too because more teams would go for Weber than Nash.

So I think all indications seem to be that the sens are willing to part with Zibanejad...shame, because I think we legitimately need a big skilled center to work the corners and shut down opposition while scoring
