This was never gonna happen. This is what happens when a guy has a NTC, too many moving parts. It's about the same as a UFA, but possibly worse - if that's even possible.

I don't buy it. Your M.O. is to get excited by ALL rumours (especially as they relate to the waiver wire). Sarcasm Laugh1

Yeah, Spez, you should really get to know yourself better than that.

Inside the NASH numbers...

I read that. Conclusion says it all.

Nash is still a pretty good player and most GMs would probably love to have him on their top-line but given the evidence shown here, it is hard to justify giving up a big package for him. It's even more difficult to justify spending $47.4M over the next six years paying off his contract because he isn't worth the cost if he can only produce at an "elite" level when he is playing soft minutes, to say nothing of the player he will be later in the contract.

Stay away BM

seriously, Zibanejad is turning heads at camp once again. Stay away from dealing him or any special prospects on ELC's at the moment.

Seriously, who do you consider "special." Who's hands off?

I'd say:

1.Silfverberg
2.Lehner
3.Zibanejad
4.Stone
5.Noesen

Pretty much in that order for me personally.

I feel a lot more confident in the Sens drafting and development than their ability to make trades (especially with Columbus) Laugh1

The top-three on that list I wouldn't touch for sure. Could be convinced to move out Stone/Noesen, but only for a special player. That's just my opinion though, and I tend to trust the Murrays enough to assume they know what they're doing if one of these guys is shipped out.

You won't get Nash, or any other top end player, without moving at least 1 of the top 3.

Probably a good thing we won't be getting Nash then, because I think it might be time to avoid the temptation of trading anyone and seeing how things shake out.

Unless there's an elite level D-man out there, then perhaps Zibanejad is back in play.

What's really remarkable is how very little money separates, say, OTT from NYR or BOS.

How realistic is that table, though? It doesn't take into consideration cost-of-living. Dallas, for example (like the other top-three, I suppose) has not personal income tax (state) but they make up for it in residential taxes and sales taxes. New Hampshire has no sales taxes (I know NH has no hockey team). Ideally you live in a state with no state income taxes, in a modest house to reduce your residential taxes, close to the border of a state with no sales taxes to do all your shopping.

Plus the table figures don't take into account income deferral plans, tax shelters and other opportunities available to those with a minimum salary approaching a half million.

Frankly, I was a little surprised the difference would be so little for Parise between NJ and Montreal.

Now, throw in a row for the KHL for comparison.
