if it is a sign and trade, then no. If his rights were traded, then yes, so long as he is not re-signed by LAK.

Yeah, it gets very complicated but basically in order to play in Canada, there's a long list of criteria one has to satisfy, like being drafted by the team, and having invested enough time into the team and settled down in the city, being from the city or area, being a rookie never played in the NHL and signing as a UFA, or being overpaid.

So basically because Steve Nash qualifies as a Superstar, the only way he would play in Canada is if i) the team was in BC (sorry Grizzlies), or ii) TO overpaid him.

The Raptors also SUCK, and I'm sure Nash would like another run at a championship before he is through. Plus, his family is in Phoenix, so he wants to be close to them. Toronto never had a shot.

The Nash to the Raptors idea made for a nice but yeah, no reason for him to come here. And he wants a chance at a ring, not happening in Toronto for a long long time.

Who will win a championship first...the Raptors or the Leafs.... I would actually pick the Leafs.
