the question will be who is the 14th forward? Is it Hoffman who has paid his dues and is having a very solid season? will it be Grant who is tailor made to be a 3rd-4th line NHLer? Will it be Stone to round out the top 6? Tough calls.
Wiercoich is also another guy there is zero doubt about. He will be in Ottawa.
I always thought Hoffman would be more of a third liner who could fill in when needed on the 2nd line but nothing wrong with experimenting. Heck I remember Winchester playing on the first line once.wprager wrote:NEELY wrote:Silfverberg is 100% going to be in Ottawa. I didn't even think it was a discussion worth having.

They were only joking about Silfverberg; but it turned serious when he took the puck and hobbled off.
From what I've heard Stone needs more time in the AHL. Once Silfverberg and one of Hoffman, DaCosta or Grant are sent up it should open up a spot in the top six. Stone has been playing a defensive role up to now. He's got something like 3 empty net goals.
I had heard someone suggest that Hoffman would do well on Spezza's wing. Interesting suggestion in that it suggests that he is ready.

Not really, based on everything I have seen and heard it's more him trying to be aggressive and perhaps taking things a little too far. Needs to bring it back a bit but that's what the learning curve is all about. He's not having a bad year at all all things considered.
Gryba being a RH shot puts him a little ahead fair or not, that's the way it is.
