If he stays healthy he will, I'm willing to bet he doesn't play more than 60 games though. That's another reason why having Mika start the year here is a good idea as I'm much more comfortable slotting him into a top-six spot if he's had some NHL games under his belt.

Let him kill it in Bingo, get his confidence high for the call up. We have no room for him here.

what id his confidence is high right now and after ripping it up in camp?

That's different then. If he comes in and makes MacLean and Murray keep him in the NHL, all bets would be off.

Yes. I think he'll score 20-25.

You talking about ZBad or Lats?

Latendresse.

Latendresse. I say he's either a failure or he gets injured personally.

He did well on a crappy Minnesota team why would he fail here. Another concussion is the only thing that could go wrong imo.

If Regin's in our top-6 it's time to look at the top-10 prospects in next year's draft.

Don't worry, he'll be injured most of the year.

My two cents.

Lots of question marks there in my opinion. Regin is not a top line player. Sub him and Michalek, since Michalek is a LW anyway. Alfie, if he plays, will he hold up playing top line minutes (even without PK time)? Silfverberg, he's an unknown. Let's not forget how high most of us were on Rundblad this time last year. SEL success doesn't always translate, and I for one am not ready to annoint him as a top 6 player.

Wiercioch? What about Borowiecki. From everything I've read, Boro seems like the most likely to be NHL ready. I think Lundin is probably a better option for the 3rd pairing than anyone who isn't on the Sens roster right now.

For me, the biggest question marks have more to do with established players than anything else. I expect a regression from this team, especially if Alfie retires. His loss of leadership and the hole in our top 6 will be massive. Can Spezza play a (close to) full year? How about Michalek? How much will Gonchar and/or Phillips regress? Will Karlsson have another Norris calibre season. People tend to forget that this team barely made the playoffs last year even though Alfie played well, Michalek had a heathy, career year, Spezza played better than most thought he would, and Karlsson rocked the entire league. Hell even Gonchar rebounded and had a better offensive year, so did Kuba.

This team is not a lock, by any means, to make the playoffs. Last season, it seems that everything that could go right did.

You have to assume that most of the year 1 and year 2 players will show some form of improvement having now spent a season in the NHL.

Add in the fact that Alfie will be back, Turris will be stronger, Latendresse has something to prove, and this could be Gonchar's last season in the NHL and you have to assume the Sens will remain at least status quo.

Higher-end prospects like Silfverberg, Zibanejad, and Stone, and mid-tier prospects like Hoffman and Borocop could all push for spots.

Greening-Spezza-Michalek
Silfverberg-Turris-Alfredsson
Regin-Smith-Latendresse
Condra-O'Brien-Neil

Once Latendresse and Regin get injured you replace them with Hoffman and Zibanejad. Stone will crack the lineup next season.

If Latendresse comes to camp in shape (used to be a knock against him) then he's more likely to play in the top-six than Greening.

Interesting...makes line 3 line a 2b

Michalek-Spezza-Alfie
Silfverberg-Turris-Regin
Greening-Smith-Latendresse
Condra-O'Brien-Neil

Those would be my changes to that kind of lineup.

Our top line produced last year. It was a good mix of size, grit, passing, and finishing. I think if Greening takes a more Foligno approach, ie: uses his size and crashes the net he'll be a much more effective first liner. He doesn't take any penalties, he's good in his own zone, and he can protect Spezz and Michalek. I personally think he's the best choice for that position as of right now. Latendresse on a very talented third line makes the most sense to me. Put him with Smith and Regin and let him focus on playing an offensive-styled two-way game.

Latendresse is a tank though, plus right now he's more of a goal scorer than Greening, IMO there's zero chance he isn't in the top six, most likely with Spezza and Michalek.

I'm starting to look forward to seeing Regin 100% healed up. He could be such a good contributor if he has any kind of luck this season. Here's hoping.

Regin in the top 6 is something that we can't really scoff at, he can produce if healthy. Maybe they see a viable option where Silfverberg plays on the 3rd line with Z.Smith and Neil for example, and Regin moves up into the top 6.

Silfverberg would get PP time though so we can further assess his talents.

I want a solid top 9 and a NOT useless 4th line, so that might help that more, we'll see.

After the Isles game last season when the Sens clinched (playing without both Alfie & Spezza) they let down on their intensity.

I think they more or less coasted to the end of the season... Were they also trying to make it to play the Rangers instead of the Bruins?

I can't imagine that being the case. I get that this might happen sometimes, but throwing games to play one of the elite teams over another elite team doesn't make any sense.

They just ran out of gas I think. They lacked intensity, but guys like Greening and Condra and Smith were ruined and needed to refocus for the playoffs.
