Another Tracy Jordan-ism ("I'd like to take that XXX behind the middleschool and make it pregnant").

Haha yeah I know, and my response was Kenneth's response when Tracy said "I love cornbread so much I want to take it behind the middle school and get it pregnant!"

Yeah, but we have to wait to see if it stays the same, or goes down under the new CBA. We're good I think.

I was thinking about this today and I think if the player's 'take' in the current CBA is at 57% of total revenue (thus making the salary cap/floor at 70.2/54.2) and they negotiate that number in the new CBA down to around 46% (making a lower cap/floor) I believe the current contracts will be reduced/rollback by the same amount (roughly 20%) meaning we'd still be under the floor.

By how much? Must be only a few hundred thousand. Thank could mean a high priced rookie gets a job over someone like Boroweicki for example.

I can't see them asking for a rollback again. Where did you hear that? They'll have to be more flexible with the cap, though, both on the floor and ceiling. Union is calling for more/better revenue sharing but perhaps a luxury tax is more in order.

The more the off-season goes on the more I think Mika Zibanejad will make the team. He was the last cut last season and McStache seems to like him and expects big things from him. He's the biggest cap hit we could add internally as well which would help us reach the floor (if it stays the same) and Melnyk wouldn't have to pay the full cap hit (bonuses).

Gui Latendresse - Jason Spezza- Milan Michalek
Jakob Silfverberg - Kyle Turris - Daniel Alfredsson
Colin Greening - Peter Regin - Mika Zibanejad
Jim O'Brien/Erik Condra - Zack Smith - Chris Neil
Kaspar Daugavins - Jim O'Brien/Erik Condra

Marc Methot - Erik Karlsson
Jared Cowen - Sergei Gonchar
Chris Phillips - Mark Borowiecki
Mike Lundin

Craig Anderson
Bishop/Lehner

This. Basically what I've been saying the whole offseason.

I would also add that Ceci might be in their plans as well. If they sign him, he will have a pretty good-sized cap hit as well. Third pairing spot is open on the right side, and he really doesn't need to play OHL hockey anymore other than for defensive work.

Who honestly believes Latendresse lasts in the top six more than a month?

If he stays healthy he will, I'm willing to bet he doesn't play more than 60 games though. That's another reason why having Mika start the year here is a good idea as I'm much more comfortable slotting him into a top-six spot if he's had some NHL games under his belt.

Let him kill it in Bingo, get his confidence high for the call up. We have no room for him here.

Latendresse. I say he's either a failure or he gets injured personally.

That's different then. If he comes in and makes MacLean and Murray keep him in the NHL, all bets would be off.

He did well on a crappy Minnesota team why would he fail here. Another concussion is the only thing that could go wrong imo.
