I think they more or less coasted to the end of the season... Were they also trying to make it to play the Rangers instead of the Bruins?

I can't imagine that being the case. I get that this might happen sometimes, but throwing games to play one of the elite teams over another elite team doesn't make any sense.

They just ran out of gas I think. They lacked intensity, but guys like Greening and Condra and Smith were ruined and needed to refocus for the playoffs.

Yeah, that's a good possibility. I think Condra may sit and a rookie may take his place like Zibanejad or Stone.

Condra is a good PKer, same with K-daug, I can't imagine both of them sitting, our PK was not our strong suit last year.

Perhaps. I thought it was more our D running around a bit, but you could be right.

just fyi, my lineup is just to show the players in the 23 man roster, so I'm not saying Daugavins and Condra will be the odd men out. Just listing who's on the roster.

I quite like that lineup. I think your forward lines are particularly good. I wouldn't be surprised to see that lineup on opening day.

Guys will rotate in and out of the lineup all year long between injuries, bad games, rookies, or w/e else. The Sens needed 14 forwards last year, they needed 7 D, it won't be any different... especially if Alfi comes back, he won't be playing 82 games.

It's good, but I still think Regin and Latendresse are switched. We didn't go out and get Latendresse to be a grinder, and Regin's 2-way play could prove useful if we're trying to make 3 nice offensive lines.

I don't understand what you mean. He has Lats on the 2nd line and Regin centering the third. I think that's ideal.

Can you explain what you mean? I'm missing something.

Seriously? lol, guys are switched all year long and tried with different guys. The only players that were never apart (or at least together 90% of the time) were Spezza and Michalek. Who cares who plays with who? Sometimes things work, sometimes they don't.

Oh yeah, he does. I was thinking of one of the other lineups in this thread.

That'll happen more with players like Silfverberg and Greening than it will with Latendresse I think. I continue to think they'll try their best to make Latendresse, Spezza and Michalek work as a unit. Two huge wingers and the talented center.

Guys are going to be rotating all year long, lol. If people want to believe any lineup is set in stone, well, w/e. Works better on XBox or PS3.

They did last year for the most part.

Spezza, Michalek, Turris, Alfredsson were all locked. Foligno played a good chunk on Turris' line, the one moving part was Greening moving up and down from 1st to 3rd line.

Why does it change all of a sudden? Spezza, Michalek, Turris and Alfredsson are all locked again, Latendresse is locked into the top 6 (IMO), so that again leaves one LW space open for Silfverberg, Greening, Regin to fight for. If injuries hit, that's a completely different thing, but as of right now I feel pretty confident in saying 5 of the 6 top 6 spots are locked, with Silfverberg having the upper hand on the 6th.

They moved Alfie up to the first line a few times. Neely is right that the lines are never fully set. I really like what (I can't remember who it was, but I think it might have been Babcock) said about his approach to lines. Rather than setting lines, he tries to use duos and complement the duos with a third player that often rotates on and off the line as need be.
