Latendresse was not qualified by the Wild.

Does that make him an RFA at the end?

Not to my knowledge.

When the Wild declined to qualify him, his status went from an RFA to a 'type VI' (or some #) UFA. I just don't understand how he can be a RFA at the end of this coming year after 7 years' of pro hockey, & nor do I see how the Wild's decision while he was an RFA can impact him after he became a type VI UFA, and after he's signed another contract.

Yeah, maybe. That's getting pretty arcane, if so. Someone do the math, then check the CBA. Laugh1

I think a guy like Borowiecki is already kind of penciled in but Hoffman is the guy that will really push... or he could be the Daugavins of last year. Get sent down early and then come up for most of the year. Think he gets the spot over Zibanejad.

I don't know it seems like other guys have gone past him.

Has he gotten any bigger ? He was always so skinny.

He led the B-Sens in scoring, then blew people away in the DC. He's coming on quick, real quick!

I can't find the chart anymore, but I think this is close:

- 27 yo (as of June 30)
- 7 or more Accrued Seasons - defined as being on an NHL Active Roster for 40 games (30 for Goalies).

I read that he impressed. Are you exaggerating, or did someone say that they were "blown away"?

I heard he was dynamite from a lot of people who went, including Tim Murray who said he was very impressed. Maybe I'm going a step too far in saying blown away, but he definitely left a big impression.

Ok. I wasn't trying to call you out, but you sometimes overstate your case and I really wanted to know if someone had said that.

I've heard that Gonchar was being shopped and Philly was interested. Probably just some random tweeter that was retweeted by someone I follow. But it could happen -- move Gonchar to open up space for a right-handed defenseman, possibly clearing space for a top-six forward UFA (Semin?).

On Semin, there is a rumour that he has an offer of 2 x $4.5, but he's looking for more than that (and will get that from the KHL).

If Ottawa trades Gonchar to PHI, that would be awfully nice of them to try and help Philly win a cup.

Gonchar might not be a favourite player here, or even an option if we had the pick of any player in the league, but he's all the Sens got right now after Karlsson.

Only way I can see that is if Ceci makes the team. Even then, Gonchar > Ceci by a huge margin.

And adding Semin at the cost of Gonchar makes the team better how?

Seems ever since we got Gonchar there's been rumours we're going to trade him ...
