I also LOVE that Neil fell on McDonaugh's head after he scored. First McD is writhing in pain from blocking the shot - which is good news anyway - then he gets 240 pounds of knee on the back of his head while it's mashed into the ice.

Love this Dung. Clapping

Neil isn't 240, not even close, but Boyle is, and it was Boyle who fell all over McDonagh.

220, whatever he is, that couldn't have felt good.

And that's not counting the one that actually went in.

Not so sure now. I had that opinion 24 hours ago as well but honestly, he's the type of guy that is just good to have around. The playoffs you really find out players worth and I think Konopka showed his.

Konopka helped in the face off dot last night... went 7-for-12. Spezza went 11-for-24. Winch was 6-for-10. That was an area we got beat bad in Game 1.

I could see them dropping Butler into the lineup as he is more likely to help on the PP.

Regardless, with the right result today, Silfverberg draws in on Wednesday.

If Alfie is out they need another set of golden hands to replace. Butler is not it. Zib would be better.

So, was a message really sent? Hagelin still elbows our Captain in the head after all that nonsense...

Unfortunately Ziba is concussed, so won't be drawing in anytime soon. Brynas is currently up 3 games to none, with game 4 being today. Hopefully they win and he can head over by Wednesday, but he won't be ready for monday.

So if Alfie is out, we do need another top 6 forward to replace him. Condra looked good with Foligno and Turris, then we could bring Daugavins back in. Alternatively, we can insert some more offensive fire power, in Butler or Andre Petersson, but then we're sacrificing size in what has become a very rough series. There is also the option of Rob Klinkhammer who has more size than all the other options, but maybe not as much scoring ability as Butler or Petersson.

So Maclean does have a few options to play with. Personally my vote is for Butler. He has shown chemistry with Spezza in the past, and we need to get that top line going. Spezza and Michalek combined for 2 shots yesterday. That's not good enough.

Prediction: zero games for Hagelin and 10 games for Carkner. Sarcasm

Check this:

Carkner's time on ice last night: 39 seconds. Same as his #.

Hilarious.

Carkner realistically probably should be suspended. Although what will go in his favour is that the incident happened early in the game, and he was kicked out. Shanahan will see Carkner as a nobody, who punched someone in the face twice (on the ground he punches Boyle in the ribs). I think Carkner will get 1 game to try and calm the series a bit. His intent seemed to be to fight Boyle. He confronted him from the front. If he wanted to cheap shot him, he could have todd bertuzzied Boyle from behind.

Hagelin, unfortunately, I think will only be given one game. I believe they will mirror the two suspensions. Hagelin clearly lifted his elbow and went for Alfie's head. I think his intent for the hit was to go for the head. It's a travesty that Hagelin was allowed to return to the game, after such a blatant attempt to injure.

I hope I'm wrong and Carkner gets nothing, and Hagelin gets multiple games.

Game 3 will be unreal, and this better pump up our fans. I'll be there and yelling my lungs dry. Interesting to see what comes of the suspensions.

Hopefully Alfie is ok... Sens will need to continue to bring it in Game 3... the bar has been raised...
