I just read a tweet saying that Michalek is slated to play RW with Turris. Plus, Spezza just got NHL first star of the week playing with The Alfie.

Is Michalek that close ? They said he MIGHT skate tomorrow, but does that mean he could play ?

I worry Michalek's production will take a big drop after the concussion. Players arent the same after a concussion and take some time to get their groove back.

Nothing is for sure yet. Nothing.

I actually like that combo better...

Greening - Spezza - Alfie (not the fastest line, but precision passing and dangles)

Foligno - Turris - Michalek (speed, speed and more speed)

im on board

Guess we can assume that those are the lines going forward, with Michalek taking Condra's spot and Condra taking Konopka out (& Winchester bumping to centre).

Greening - Spezza - Alfredsson
Foligno - Turris - Michalek
Smith - Regin - Neil
Daugavins - Winchester - Condra

Those are actually some good looking lines. Smile

Between KDaug, Winch, and Konopka, I'm not sure who they'll take out. It's possible that KDaug goes back down at some point. He's been good, but he's trailed off a bit. They may just rotate the three of them into the two open spots.

I dunno. Smith, Winchester, Daugavins, and Condra have been the go-to guys when it comes to the PK. Maybe Michalek coming back makes one of them expendable. Maybe. We'll see.

Agreed. I'm just thinking out loud. I think it's likely that KDaug gets a game or two in the box at some point, but ZK is the most likely scratch at any given time.

He's been using ZK on the PP lately though.

True. He's been effective, too. Shrug I'm not sure what they'll do, but someone'll have to come out when 9MM comes back. KDaug may well be the victim of a 2way.

I agree, this presents another cog for our forward lines.

I assume it'll be:

Greening - Spezza - Alfredsson
Michalek - Turris - Foligno
Regin - Z.Smith - Condra
Daugavins - Winchester/Konopka - Neil

Something like that...one of Winch/Konopka will have to sit because I REALLY doubt they send Daugavins down. Butler will basically never play again.

Yah, Butler is in trouble to be sure. That's one guy they should be looking to trade to be honest.

I'm sure they're looking into it as we speak. A shame because the kid has talent, but I don't see him rebounding from this.

I just don't think he's all that good to be honest. Fantastic shot but he might not have the killer instinct to be a scorer in the NHL.

Either way, it's not like he's 21 and needs time, he's 25 and is running out of it.
