I love that kid but, hyperbole much?

That said, if I were to go back over the five games and pick the best forward I'd be hard-pressed to name one. Regin was very good early on. Smith has been great, too. DaCosta, as well. But I'd have a tough time saying "best forward in camp" for any of them.

I don't think he's been the best forward. He's just getting noticed more because he's the shiny new toy. At times he does look a bit lost but not too much.

and you literally said Da Costa was outplaying him, now you're flip flopping again. Michalek has been the best forward IMO. Even Zack Smith.

2 seriously strong games change that and so does an injury. Things change by the day and right now, Zibanejad, IMO, has been the best forward.

If Regin's out for a while, that's a damn shame. He was looking real good and MacLean seemed to like him.

Meh, Regin, for as well as he was playing still didn't put the puck in the net nor were the guys around him really. Effort was there, things might have been coming around a little, he looked way better than last year, but he still didn't do anythign to show he's a 2nd line center. Zibanejad has and hopefulyl will continue to do so.

I've been thinking about that a lot recently. I'm not even sure we need to put that pressure on him. Bump one of the bottom 6 guys and making him + Foligno + Greening - no idea who can play RW there - the third line.

Then Konopka - Smith - Neil - blah, that doesn't really work either.

We're in that classic predicament... no clear top 6/bottom 6 split... the middle seems to all blend together...

Yeah...classic Sens predicament these past years. There's the big guns (all of 3 or 4), then the rest could be anywhere from a weak 2nd line to a strong 3rd line.

No complaints from me though, at least these guys work hard - last year was very difficult to take. Although I'm sure Filatov can be frustrating...

The only question -- what's the area code?

So MacLean now says that he's optimistic Regin will be ready to go October 7.

Mind you, this was the same guy whose initial diagnosis of Winchester's injury was "He's got a boo-boo".

Regin's injury 'not serious' according to Regin and he hopes to practice again next week and be ready for the home opener.
