Sens Lineup Card for 11/12

Regin's injury 'not serious' according to Regin and he hopes to practice again next week and be ready for the home opener.

What about Konopka? Healthy scratch?

I would scratch him, but I'm sure he'll be in the lineup. I just don't think he brings anything this club needs. Maybe put him in when Carkner is a scratch, and vice versa.

I don't see it happening personally. Don't know who'll get scratched, but I have a hard time seeing it being Konopka.

After watching all the pre-season games now, I think Spezza needs a big, strong mucker and grinder on his line. Butler & Filatov aren't going to do it. Switch up Michalek & Filatov (who's more of a play maker anyway), or bring Greening up in Butler's spot (at least until Butler shows more life).

Right now, no one on that Spezza line is willing to go into corners, forecheck, and turn the puck over. And that equals 0 offence.

Spezza still needs someone on his line willing to do the dirty work he can't or won't.

As of right now the guy who deserves to be in the lineup the least in my mind is Butler, fairly disappointed that he hasn't been able to translate last years success. I know people will disagree, but Regin has looked much better to me (granted in somewhat limited viewing) and I think a swap to the wing is exactly what he needs.

For a "pure snipper" to not have a goal or any real scoring chances at all, it's more than a cause ofr concern. Luckily there are about 5 guys in the organization just waiting for the chance to step in and play. If Butler doesn't start producing in real short order, he will find he is in for a very long 2 years.

Regin in for Butler makes a ton of sense, I agree. Regin always looked his best playing next to Spezza so why not go with it. That said, Zibanejad won that number 2 center spot fair and sqaure despite injuries. He was awesome all camp, but Regin deserves to be in the lineup.

The Konopka signing was all MacLean, clearly he feels he brings something to the team that he wants as part of the identity, so who are we to really question that. A guy like Winchester doesn't bring a whole lot in all honesty. Good 13th forward that may be looking to have a playoff run, not so much on a rebuilding team.

Too bad we ran out of pre-season games/Regin got hurt - I think him on Spezza's wing with a big player like Michalek is a sound idea.

Did MacLean ever play Filatov with Zibanejad (and/or) Alfie ?

I have to agree, I can't believe how invisible he's been. Very disappointing to say the least...I don't really know what else to say...I hope this was just a weird pre-season for him and that he'll wake up soon - we need some scoring on this team to keep things interesting.
