There's no way Runbland makes it over Cowen. If anyone has to play half a season in the A while Kuba builds value it'll be Rundbland.

Can I ask why you consistently call him Rundbland? It's Rundblad. Not bland like a cheap steak

SNES 2.0?

There was that idea floating around 2 years ago, if I remember correctly. This could be good in case we have trouble moving Kuba, and we maintain a good character, policeman on our team. This would also open up a little more competition on D, where Rundblad, Cowen and Lee will fight for the 2 remaining D spots.
This would especially work if Zibanejad goes back to Sweden. And then Winchester and Carkner can platoon the 12th spot, and make sure that everyone plays hard, if not they'll be replaced by the 13th forward.
not a terrible idea but carkner couldn't make the NHL as a forward... if i remember correctly it was ottawa that placed him as a D-man... I could be wrong. The Silfer Server wrote:Something we haven't really addressed yet was the possibility of moving Matt Carkner to a 4th line RW. Top line: Michalek - Spezza - Butler
- Regin showed some chemistry with Spezza; I believe someone mentioned that Michalek enjoyed his best season playing left, and is less effective on the right.
Line 2A: Filatov - Zibanejad/Greening - Alfredsson
- Is there anyone out there better than Alfie to teach a couple of young kids the ropes? He still has speed to keep up and a great shot. Both Zibanejad and Greening have size and like to use it. With Alfredsson's defensive game and Greening/Zibanejad's speed the line won't be too soft defensively; plus Filatov's got wheels as well and who knows, maybe some two-way play will rub off on him.
Line 2B: Foligno - Greening/DaCosta - Regin
Both Folilgno and Regin have to prove themselves as legit top-six players.
Line 4:
Daugavins - Smith/Winchester - Neil
I love this line. The opposition won't.
I hate to agree with Big Ev but I can't see daug cracking this line-up. neither can I see greening as our second line center unless a whole bunch of people go injured. Regin, zib or da costa if he bulks up have to be the 3 guys to have a crack at that 2nd line C.Big Ev wrote:wprager wrote:OK, I'm finally going to give this a shot:

Daugavins? Yuck.
now we're getting closer. I know Lee worked ok with Phillips last year but call me scarred i expect him to regress a little this year.rooneypoo wrote:Our line-up will look something like this, IMO:
F:
Michalek-Spezza-Butler
Filatov-Regin/Foligno*-Alfie
Regin/Foligno*-Smith-Neil
Greening-Winchester-Condra*
Extra: call-ups*
D:
Phillips-Lee
Cowen-Gonchar
Kuba*-Karlsson
Extra: Carkner
G:
Anderson
Auld
Zibanejad may make the team; he would push Condra out. DaCosta, I don't see making it, nor will any forward rookie for that matter; anyone who does would have to displace Condra first. Rookies like Daugavins, Wick, and O'Brien will see frequent call-ups due to injury and/or other players' poor performance. If Kuba is indeed traded and a forward added, Rundblad makes it and Regin and Foligno both get shuffled down, knocking Condra back to Bingo. Unless Regin has a brutal camp, then he's gone altogether.
I put zero stock in anything BooBoo says, btw. How the hell would he know that line #1 is going to be Michalek-Spezza-Alfie? I'll bet anything that Maclean doesn't even have something like that even close to settled already.
