What are the odds that he'll be able to handle it ? How many 18 year olds are ready to step into a top-6 NHL role ?

I think it will be Regin vs. Da Costa vs. Zibanejad. May the best one win.

Yes but do we want to rush a player into the league ? Historically the Sens have been very cautious in bringing prospects into the NHL.

They had to sign him by the 15th or he can't play in the NHL next year.

Either he makes the team or he goes back to the SEL.

They had to sign him by Friday so they didn't have to pay Djurgarden $100K if they signed him after that, but before August 15.

Zibanijad signs entry level contract with Sens. Heading home to Sweden to train. Says 1 more year in Sweish elite league if doesn't make NHL

My understanding is that it's either NHL or SEL. He has 1 year obligation in Sweden, the only way out of it is if he plays in the NHL.

Michalek and Neil are our best "net crashers", maybe Foligno and Greening as well.

As for Penner I been thinking about it but I got the impression LA is going to give him another chance since that trade looks awful for them right now. I'm sure Terry has told Bryan about how bad/lazy Penner is discouraging any talk of a trade. It might take more than Foligno to get him as well, LA will want to recover from this.

If he's physically and mentally in the right place I hope Filatov gets legit top-6 time to get his NHL game going. He's got too much potential for them to stick him in a checking role and wait til he's "defensively responsible" enough.

So far Murray's comments indicate they're set for next season barring depth signings for Bingo. Filatov is the top-6 forward they were going to trade for or acquire via FA. Thankfully they didn't go the FA route seeing the ridiculous contracts handed out.

At worst we'll land Yakupov or Grigorenko next June
