So basically "Don't fire Clouston because we can't afford to start winning." hahaha, i kid of course, i know that's not what you said/meant, but i find it funny, and somewhat agree.

The Sens could sell out most games simply by lowering prices. A lot of the real fans are the ones that cannot afford to go to games. I've tried to get tickets to games and I will only spend $30/ticket and have a hard time finding any but there are plenty of $200 ea. tickets. So, people want to go to games, just not for that price. So it only makes sense to sell more tickets at a lower price.

Anyways, if Neil is out, does Carkner dress as a forward? Or does Ruutu come back in?

How tall is Z Smith. TSN says he's 6'2, but Gill is 6'7, and did not look 5 inches taller.

The other thing about Clouston is that if Murray fired him and replaced him (he's on record as saying he doesn't want to coach again) that would be 4 (FOUR) guys Melnyk is paying to coach/not coach this team. As a billionaire, the man is a pretty astute businessman and that's something that isn't good for the pocketbook.

It's time to cut his losses and start over with this team. Trade what salary we can at the deadline to cut the losses for this season and start fresh in May with a new hockey operations department.

Relax. It's still early.

Any NHL organization cannot deliberately create a losing atmosphere. It will hurt the development of their younger players on the roster more in the long run than the benefit of selecting 1 or 2 spots higher in an amateur draft.

I bet they pick up Nabokov tomorrow and they are fools if they do not address the goaltending immediately one way or the other. It will help Karlsson, Foligno, Regin, etc. to play with a (hopefully) stable goalie behind them. And for those who want to tank, I don't think it will affect their draft position much. A solid goalie will help keep games competitive as opposed to the embarassment of games like tonight.

And again, Nabokov will not be in the NHL if Ottawa claims him.

If sens can't win on Tuesday, sens would finish January with one stinking victory. Awesome....

Staying the course isn't creating a losing atmosphere. That amosphere is already here.

I bet that Nabokov doesn't report to Ottawa if claimed. He's already had his agents reportedly send a fax around the league stating that he will only play for a contender.

I just don't see how Nabakov makes us any better. Maybe after some rust he would perform better but the loses would continue to pile up. This team in front of the goalies are just brutal, and cannot score for the life of them.

Another reason to not claim Nabakov: If we want to look at Jim Nill as a replacement for Murray, we'd need Holland's permission to talk with him. They certainly wouldn't grant us that after sticking it to him now.

From mlive.com:

Asked if there is any way Nabokov could wind up in Detroit after another club claims him, his agent, Don Meehan, said on Friday, “Anything’s possible, but not likely.”

Meehan said Nabokov will play regardless of where he ends up, nixing speculation that he would sit out the season if he were claimed by a club for whom he did not want to play.

“He wants to get visibility for next year,” Meehan said.

I hope the Sens do something, Nabokov or not.

There is so much truth to this! When i lived in ottawa i used to queue for hours in order to get those 30 tickets. They sold fast. The 4 people 100$ deal is good but you have to find the other 3. Theres no way i could find 3 other people to go to a game when i drive down to ottawa from MTL. If you ask me make 2 for50 tickets and keep your hotdogs.

Sign Brust then, and give him a shot. He's earned it with some solid play in Bingo.

Agreed that a losing atmosphere is there, which is why immediate change is required. What it is, I don't know for sure, but I can't see getting pumped at home AGAIN by a division rival not generating a strong response.

Oh ok, the last news I heard was otherwise. Said that he wanted to play for a contender.

Also:

@SensReporter (James Gordon)

Telling words? Clouston: "We've got to start from scratch with everything."

Reporter: "Coach, just your general impressions on this one." Clouston: "Terrible. That's my general impressions."
