I mentioned this in the Fisher thread I believe. I think he'd be a great pickup, seen him play a bunch with the Petes, the guy can put the puck in the net.

Kovalev will be a deadline day deal as would Kuba, IMO. I wouldn't be surprised if Ottawa takes advantage of a seller or two as well.

Ideally. But I think it's a cap hit thing with Kovalev. I believe Phillips and Ruutu will go rather quick and either one of those might yield something to use as lube in a Kuba trade down the road.

A lot of teams calling Ottawa on Spezza, but my bet is that he isn't moved. Ruutu, Kovalev, Phillips likely gone.

That makes sense. I think of Hemsky as Spezza-Light, and we all know that LAK would love to get Spezza. I could see that going down.

what I don't understand is why the LA kings haven't inquired about Kovalev....this guy should be the hottest commodity on the market and its just nuts that I've heard zero rumors about him. Not many more skilled than him...

That will cost a LOT - and the Kings aren't going far this year IMO. No need to give up Schenn right now.

I don't know why you think Hemsky would cost "a lot"... he's a band-aid. I would think a similar deal as to what Fisher got.
