I hope it's not a desperation move to save the season. My guess is it's a dress rehearsal for all the prospects and nothing more.

I think they're just trying to spark something, anything out of the players... they look listless and deflated out there... not good at all. This is far worse than anything we've seen before.

Or perhaps some players are on their way out?

Apparently there were some GMs at the game (as per Don Brennan). It will be interesting to see if you are right Cap'n. Ahhhhh!

I doubt that Murray has a trade worth taking already. Typically that'll happen closer to the deadline in order to make sure that he got the best possible offer. Although the situation currently certainly warrants a change sooner....

I would tend to agree but if no one is being sent down then they're likely going to make room for these two call ups right? If O'Brien and Mike Brodeur are demoted then you're probably right and we won't see a move until closer to the deadline.

This is an audition for Lehner. If he can handle it, great. If not, I don't think it will have a long-term effect. Locke will see this as potentially his one and only shot.

I can only imagine Melnyk called Murray after the game and the first words out of his mouth were, "WTF???"

So we have an Ottawa Sun reporter who spotted Locke at the Boston Hotel where the Sens are staying - http://www.ottawasun.com/sports/hockey/2011/01/11/16853241.html

A tweet from someone named Joy
PSBJoyOnTheSens Joy Lindsay
Per @MEHockeyJournal in Portland, #AHL scoring leader Corey Locke and rookie goalie Robin Lehner are headed from #BSens to #NHL #Sens

And Senschirp reporting that both Locke and Lehner have been recalled.

Why haven't we seen an official anouncement yet? Are they waiting for Thursday morning to save a day of cap space? Are they waiting because they may have a trade that they'd like to have go through first?

If Corey Locke needed to prove further to the Senators he deserved to be called up, he did it Tuesday night with two goals and two assists in Binghamton’s 5-2 win over Portland.
After his AHL game, Locke was spotted at the Senators’ hotel in Boston. That means the centre will likely be in Ottawa’s lineup Thursday against the Islanders.
This is how Cory Clouston explained the team’s decision to recall Jim O’Brien rather than Locke to fill the roster hole left vacant by the injury to Alex Kovalev: “I would say right now there’s a couple of guys down there ... if you want to look at just sheer goals, (Locke) is not a pure goal scorer down there.”
A four-point game obviously changed some opinions.

Sometimes, I really wonder at what the hell is going on in CC's mind.

I'm not going to blame the coach but does anyone else regret we didn't sign Torts instead of cc? Remember, Torts was unemployed when CC was named coach

I know, more now than ever. He's lost it as well as the entire team. It's really sad to watch...

I was definitely intrigued by him, but I also thought he was way too much of an bunghole to be able to keep the attention of the boys. Now, I wish we had a tough-as-nails coach though. Locke and Lehner called up - Page 3 489887

Also, remember that we kept CC instead of Heatley ... Heatbag would probably still be here under torts (and the attitude issue would not have come out under the sun). I think we'd be in a much better position but I also realize it's very easy to say this today.

I mentioned it several times. Sarcasm

Not an indictment of Clouston but certainly we'd be looking at a different team right now, IMO. Look no further than Drury on the 4th line/faceoff specialist for evidence of The Fonz's brass-ballery.

At the very least he'd provide us with some entertainment.

Seriously! That's one thing that's really bugging me with this tank-nation that's going on right now. Can they at least score a few goals to keep it interesting? Or get into some fights, something! That game was just brutally boring to watch last night, zero entertainment for a Sens fan.
