Yeah, but he's had 3 or 4 torn ACL's now, how many times can somebody come back from that? He just completes the Sens mantra of paying guys more than 4 million for no offensive output.

He only had 2 ACLs to start with. Are you saying he's torn one or both repaired ones?

Not in my books. He was done before the trade to Ottawa; let's just say that deal was a head-scratcher at the time.

The instructions given Binghamton Senators coach Kurt Kleinendorst on Tuesday were this: Tell Corey Locke to go out and win that night’s game, and he’d get his call up to the NHL.

Locke responded with a two-goal, two assist performance...

Love that!

Great head on this guys shoulders. Lehner is sounding like pushing him to pros and now to his first NHL start was not rushing him at all. Love the attitude.

I take it this was not your comment to the article:

oh great,Time to ruin our goalie of the future,he needs a lot more time, plus hes on a slider rule contract, why start his NHL career before hes ready,so he can become an unrestricted free agent earlier, not to mention hes been playing like Dung and his ego needs to be taken down a lot before he makes the next step,He was a back up for the Swedish Junior team a week ago and hes gonna be our starter !
give me a break
Fire Murray,Keep Clouston,finish last and Re-build please!

According to Marakh (I think?) Sweden always plays their backup in a Bronze Medal game. Lehner did not play, so what does that mean? I don't know, but if not for a blown call by the lineseman Lehner would have been playing for the Gold.

This move has Melnyk written all over it. I was suspecting it might happen and, frankly, I'm OK with it. Let's see what the kid has. No pressure, the season is done. Elliott should be worried, though. Next year he's either backing up Lehner or Lehner is backing up someone else. In other words, Lehner has to absolutely shine or absolutely stink for Elliot to still have a roster spot next season. If Lehner is just OK to be the backup next season, he won't be backing up Elliott.

Back to this being a "Melnyk move" -- Clouston announcing the starter a day early is a definite clue to that. And if he is not allowed to make starting goalie decisions any more, does anyone really think his contract will be extended?

Definitely not my comment above as you so accurately pointed out. Since you brought it up though he mentions that Lehner was playing like crap but he clearly didn't read the article because it says right in there that he won his last 4 starts and has a respectable 2.65 GAA and .912 SV%. I like his ego and attitude and want him to keep it as long as it comes with results.

If his record is 5-5-1 and he won his last 4 starts, it means he was 1-5-1 before that. That qualifies as sucking Smile

Except that that article addresses that as well and the comment is that he's been playing like dung not he was just recently playing poorly and now turned it around.

Going 1-5-1 doesn't necessarily mean the goalie is playing like crap either.

Whether we win or not tonight, I am just excited to see Lehner play. This kid has a great attitude and seems to appreciate everything that comes his way.

Bang on. I'm actually excited about a Sens game for the first time in at least a couple of weeks.

Now, how does that affect your userid?

Exactly. They were saying that none of the Bingo boys were able to score for a while. Hmmm that sounds familiar. Locke and Lehner called up - Page 10 489887 Hence the 1-5-1

So true, it's nice to feel this way for a change. Thanks Robin Rockon
