To me, the end of this season sucked. I feel like the Florida Panthers, who continually suck, and never end up with a high enough pick to nab a franchise player, rather than doing it right and sucking all the way to grab a guy at the top of the draft, like Tampa has recently with Stamkos and Hedman. Given the two choices, I'd much rather follow the Tampa model.

Keep the faith that they're interchangeable is all I can say. With the possible exception of Strome (perhaps not on the same level) and RNH (potentially on a higher level), I see Larsson, Huberdeau, Couturier, Landeskog all pretty much as equals. If we're left with Strome and it's not who we want, then we got f-ed in the damn lottery, otherwise, they're all safe. 1-6 + Murphy and Hamilton are all relatively safe picks in my eyes.

However, yes, obviously I'd prefer to be drafting 3rd and getting my chance at Larsson or Lando or whoever we want basically.

That's my point. One of them will be, but it's out of our control. I'd rather have sucked Donkey all year to have had the chance to have our pick of the litter rather than take what's left over. Like I said, we are following the Florida model, not the Tampa model.

I 100% get where you're coming from, but one thing you don't want to do is follow a Florida Panthers model. The Sens had too many passengers - and that's no offense to Fisher, he just was struggling here, and that definitely doesn't apply to Kelly, but Kovalev really hurt this team, probably more than anyone can even imagine. Gonchar too - he needs to wake the Diddle up, but in the grand scheme the Sens were way too talented to be a bottom 3 team.

I hope we don't get Couturier, so you have to change your avatar, and I no longer have to look at that ridiculous picture.

Just heard that the Sens will not be having a draft party this year. I guess that's what happens when SBP is booked with Cirqu de Soleil (sp?).
One of the most important drafts in team history and no draft party.
I guess we make our own.

It kinda blows, because you don’t need SBP to have a draft party. Just use one of the million sports bars in Ottawa. Oh well.

Edmonton had Taylor Hall show up to a draft LOTTERY party for god’s sake
