and all three think what I do..that both Larsson and Hamilton will go in the top 5. I don't think it's because they are better than Couturier Huberdeau or Strome, but the teams picking are desperate for Dmen.

I saw they predict Ottawa selects the Saint John connection of Huberdeau and Phillips.

At one point or another this year I've been enamored with all of the top 7 guys. Laugh1 Not a big deal to me who we take at this point. Huberdeau - yes please, Strome - sure, Couturier - sounds good, Landeskog - I wish, Larsson - I wish, RNH - I wish.

Odds are one of those guys are available when we pick. Sarcasm

Not a bad idea.

Couturier and Drummondville on the verge of elimination today as they face Gatineau.

Yeah, whoever we pick will be good for the Sens no matter what. Had there been a Crosby or a Stamkos or an Ovechkin to be had at #1, I may have been a little more hopeful for a true tank for the #1.

Will Murray still be GM by the time our pick is actually in our lineup though... ? We shall see...

Couturier's season is now over after a 3-6 loss to Gatineau
We know Landeskog and RNH have been eliminated.

Huberdeau and Strome are the forwards left that can raise their stocks.

Sean Couturier is the pick! Same initials as Sidney Crosby and the Stanley Cup...can't be a coincidence!

Murray was at the game last night. Too bad he didn't score!

Will Murray still be GM? How long are you figuring for this pick to be in the lineup? Ohmy...

In last year's draft -- top 5 picks slid down...

Do you think by some strange events that the top 5 picks in this draft are all forwards or that Doug Hamilton from Niagara slids above Larsson.. and at the 6th pick for Ottawa -- Larsson is sitting there.

Question is -- do the Sens take him with that pick -- or go for whatever forward is highest on their list at that point?

That would make one 'sick' defense in the future.. if the Sens take him.. would it not.

But there is very little chance of that scenario happening... it's nothing but a 'pipedream'.

Forwards are what they need.

Keep all the picks where they are.. select as many forwards as they can... and possibly a goaltender -- that would be 12 extra prospects to stock the future

No chance that Larsson falls to us - none. If that happens...I'll be really surprised, let's put it that way.

I think it goes like such:

1.RNH
2.Landeskog
3.Larsson
4.Huberdeau
5.Couturier
6.Strome

A couple of these are interchangeable, but I doubt NJ goes too far off the board and takes a D-man - although, admittedly Hamilton looks and sounds like their kind of guy. I also don't think the Isles take a D-man with the forward crop in the top 6. IMO, the only chance the Sens have of someone other than Strome is if one of NJ or the Isles take a flyer on a D-man like Hamilton or Murphy, but at pick 4 I don't see that happening.

My early mock (subject to change)

1. RNH
2. Larsson
3. Landeskog
4. Huberdeau
5. Hamilton
6. Couturier
7. Strome
8. Murphy
9. Siemens
10. Armia

Landeskog could fall to us IMO. This draft is way too unpredictable to say there is no chance of that, or Larsson falling, happening.

Landeskog could easily fall to us, Larsson I would bet against in a big, big way, but I guess you never know.

Yeah and Huberdeau is 8th. Diddle these rankings, they're all different.

Diddle, I didn't look at the actual list, that doesn't sound right.

He was a ghost the entire series and if he played like that since Feb/March no wonder he's slipping in the rankings.

This is the last thing I see happening. Of all the forwards in the top 5 he is easily the most likeable person, the most mature, and the one who brings some things different that none of the others have. I think he goes top 3 if not top 2.
