A Fin I think. It would surprise me if we took him at 6, but not to the point where I'd be in shock. I could see us trading down to nab him + get an extra 2nd, but that's risky business.

Keep Rundblad and wait to see which of him or Karlsson becomes better. In my mind, the odds are good that Karlsson is traded for a young, impact forward in a few years - Sens' fans can riot all they want.

Do you actually see that happening? It would be nice to have two offensive studs on the back end, not just one.

I don't know if I see it happening, but it's gonna be a major option if Rundblad turns out to be a superstar. Karlsson's value will continue to rise to the point where I bet the Sens get an offer they have a hard time refusing.

After the deadline Lee played very well with Phillips on the shutdown pairing. He was scratched for most of the beginning of the season. He never whined...just practiced hard and got his chance again.. and proved himself.

Why not trade him? Would Minnesota look at him?

Why not trade him? You just answered that, he was great with Phillips as a shutdown.

Or I don't even know if that's needed. I think FLA would have to go with RNH, then NJ and NYI should go with d-men or Couturier.

Like I said, Murray would have the chance to turn the big weakness in the organization (high end forwards) into a strength in literally 10-15mins. Larsson should be a nice player but I would still take Landeskog over him.

Laugh1 iwas just losing sleep last night about the possibility of such a trade. since rundblad has been such a sominating force this year i was wondering if he might not be a good trade as a 1 for 1 for the second overall. available to step into the NHL next year. Landeskog could also step into the NHL but maybe the Avs are looking to add that high end D-man Rund is looking to be.

personaly i'm not sure. i love the depth we have at the blue-line would you want to risk losing that? Wiercioch is the one prospect we aren't sure will make the NHL, maybe he will but it's no guarantee.

Looking at these playoffs, Can't see how Hamilton is not a top 5 pick at this point. IF they beat Mississauga, he might be gone by 4 to NJ.
I will say this: We will do whatever it takes to get another top 7 pick, and NSH's pick could/should land us Philips, Danault, McNeil, Jensen or Scheifele. All good players.

Big Ev wrote:Well Murray could have done that last year (Tarasenko etc.) so I don't see the point in trading Rundblad for a forward now.

That's assuming there's no-one better than Tarasenko available now.

some more mock drafts from NHL.com. 2 of the 3 analysts think we're taking Huberdeau.

and all three think what I do..that both Larsson and Hamilton will go in the top 5. I don't think it's because they are better than Couturier Huberdeau or Strome, but the teams picking are desperate for Dmen.

I saw they predict Ottawa selects the Saint John connection of Huberdeau and Phillips.

At one point or another this year I've been enamored with all of the top 7 guys. Laugh1 Not a big deal to me who we take at this point. Huberdeau - yes please, Strome - sure, Couturier - sounds good, Landeskog - I wish, Larsson - I wish, RNH - I wish.

Odds are one of those guys are available when we pick. Sarcasm
