GAME DAY: Edmonton Oilers @ Ottawa Senators - 7:30pm ET - MON. Nov. 29, 2010
"Youthful Oilers get schooled?"
The Ottawa Senators (11-12-1, 23pts) play host to the Edmonton Oilers (6-12-4, 16pts) tonight. This will be the Sens first look at Taylor Hall and Jordan Eberle as NHL players. Ottawa is coming off an impressive 3-0 win over the hated rival Leafs on Saturday. It looked like the Sens hadn't left the rink from the Pittsburgh game and just picked up where they left off. The Oilers, however, saw their come back bid fall short vs. the Sharks. Down 4-1 they clawed back to make it interesting only to lose 4-3. The Oilers are on a steep learning curve with a fair bit of youth and there early season MVP on the mend in Khabibulin.
That comeback attempt should serve as a stern warning to Ottawa. These guys don't know when to give up and the Sens should not have mercy and let up for one minute. If Ottawa plays like they have in the last couple of games then this has the makings of being a free Pizza night but, if they let up and allow the Oilers back in it then it could just as easily be another loss. At this stage of the season, a game under 500, at home vs. a bottom dweller like Edmonton, this should be an easy win and nothing else should be acceptable.
