I'd say there's little question he did.

Oh, no, not another Filatov-gate.

And to think they haven't really figured it all out yet offensively - especially on the PP. If they put that together they could be almost unstoppable.

That said, losing Cowen was a huge hit. Hopefully the rest of the squad makes up for his absence, or the Sens make a move to shore up the D.

Agreed. All those wins they've been racking up since he's been out are really hurting the team.

If anything, it gives Richardson more leeway to reward guys that are playing well. He would have to play Cowen no matter how he plays because he's there to be a yes-man for the Murraysesses.

If the NHL starts up, Bingo hopefully won't be impacted TOO much. At least one of Lehner/Bishop will be staying down there, so the goaltending will continue to be solid.

Only guy that is a sure bet to be up in Ottawa is Silfverberg, he needed this time in the AHL in a big way before the NHL starts up again.

Borowiecki is probably a good bet as well and I will say Benoit makes the opening day roster.

Yeah, I'd agree that Silf is pretty much a lock. I'd add BoroCop to that category as well. We'll want some guys on the roster that have actually been competing at a high level.

For sure. One guy who I think doesn't have a chance is Zibanejad. He has a longs ways to go like I was saying before. If they want a 3rd line winger then sure, play him in the NHL right now. If they want him to turn into something resembling a top 6 forward he needs a year or two in the AHL. He's so far away.

Benoit is the guy that will surprise some people this time around.

I haven't seen much of Bingo this year, so I can't really comment on how well Benoit's been playing.

Just looking at Z-Bad's stats, you would assume he won't make the team for opening night.

If Da Costa keeps producing and is healthy, he may get an early look on the NHL roster.

Da Costa probably needs to get a little stronger and a little better away from the puck before he really gets a shot and sticks.

Zibanejad is a lot further away from being a top 6 NHLer than people want to admit. Until he starts to score at a pace that somewhat resembles a top 6 guy he should be in the AHL. Ottawa gets bottom 6ers every year in later rounds so it's not really a need.

Benoit will get an honest look though, that's for sure and with Cowen out having a guy that knows how to play the game and has earned his shot will be huge.

Stone might have an outside chance as well but he needs to get going a little as well. Silfverberg is probably the only forward from Bingo that makes the cut this time around.

Well deserved. He looked solid the few shifts he's had with Ottawa so far.

Nothing against Zibanejad but I agree. Nothing wrong with admitting he's not even close to ready. He has all the tools to be a very nice NHL player but he's barely a very nice AHL player right now.

Zibanejad: The Next Nick Foligno!

How long before he's the focal point of every trade rumour surrounding the Sens?

Exactly, go the Bobby Ryan, Ryan Kessler route. Give him lots of time in the AHL, let him learn the game at the professional and North American level, and give him a chance to find himself as a player.

There's a reason they don't want him going anywhere near the WJC and it's because he's a prospect that needs stability and needs to focus.

For some players it doesn't happen overnight and Zibanejad is one of them. I'm not a huge fan at this point but I realize how much can change in 2, 3 years time. He needs that time.

The nice thing is there is no rush for him to get to the NHL. There are 3 or 4 guys ahead of him on the depth chart IMO and he won't be rushed like Foligno was.

Sifverberg and Stone for sure are ahead of him. Argument could be made for Da Costa. Petersson is having a tough year but it's not insane to think he has more of a shot. I think even Noesen is ahead of Zibanejad right now but he's stuck in the OHL so no point in talking about it.

So Lehner has a throat infection after getting 4 wisdom teeth pulled. Zibanejad is sick after getting wisdom teeth pulled. What's going on down there?
