Wick will get every shot to make the team, but why would he stay in NA for a serious pay cut removed from a really great sitution in The Swiz for Bingo?

Where would I rather be? In The Alps making really good money, at home, and really happy. Or in Binghamption, NY making a lot less money with a bunch of hicks? It's a no brainer.

No doubt about it. That's not even an issue.

Haha, well point is they both had pretty good season's and Fisher finally had a good winger to play with for an extended period of time. You cant deny Fisher had a good year and was very clutch throughout the season... Kovalev should get credit for Fisher's season as well.

Right. Yet only one is getting run out of town. Personally, it bothers me.

I dont agree with Kovalev being run out of town, he picked his game up and was huge when everyone went down. He was a big reason for the season's turn around. He has one year left on his deal and he wants to play and be here, he's also well liked in the room.

He's a really misunderstood player. I think he loves game because to him, it's fun, and it's just pond hockey for him because he's so good.

He's just so good that playing in the NHL is just like being a kid at an outdoor rink for him and he has a hard time taking it seriously, I guess.

Fans for the most part are pretty simple. The same ones that say "Spezza is the future captain" are the same ones that say "Kovalev is worthless and cant play the game anymore". Kovalev is a good player, will get you 20-25 goals and 50 points, and makes players around him better. Oh ya, he's money in the playoffs.

I think Wick should only accept a deal conditional upon the immediate transfer of the AHL franchise to the booming Metropolis of Cornwall, Ontario.

Then everybody's happy. Ottawa Senators off-season talk - Page 46 226479

Seriously, they need to get the team out of frigging Bingo, the town is awful. Brining it to Cornwall would be perfect. There is a big enough population to actually support the team on their own no tot mention the fact when The Sens are out of town, people from Ottawa will absolutely come down to see their AHL team play. They have a nice rink and a good hockey history.

The Colts would have to be moved though.

Personally I've always preferred to have Fisher on the wing. If we re-sign Cullen it might be a possibility.

Depends on if he wants to make the NHL. If he perseveres and plays well in Bingo, he'll earn himself an NHL contract - which has the potential to set him up for life.

Ill say this about Wick though, I think he will have the edge over Butler simply because they will lose Wick forever if he doenst crack The Sens lineup. They may very well give him a look in the regular season and see how it shakes out, Butler is Ottawa's property for while.

Unless Wick looks totally out of place, he will probably be in Ottawa next year.

I think SSF's kid's driving the keyboard again. First a post with no sarcasm at all, then a post with a little sarcasm but with a smiley.

Fess up.

So does Europe. Playing in Europe is a ton of fun and they make great money... also, he's actually playing at home in Europe. He's leaving a great situation in Europe to take a chance of coming over here, which is still a leap of faith on his part. I give him all the credit in the world for doing it and I wouldnt blame him one bit for going back if he didnt make it.

Then Mikey needs to go on some sort of self-discovery retreat where he can learn to know himself better.

If he's signed to a two way contract though, can he just pack his Dung and go back to switzerland with the Sens permission?

Because he made that leap of faith, I could see him sticking in the AHL for a year and seeing if he gets NHL time etc., but yeah, you could be right, he may want nothing to do with Bingo.

He can ask out of it for sure which they would probably say yes to. You dont want anyone in The AHL who doesnt want to be there.

City of Bingo or Europe? Make more money or less? It's not even a decision.

There's no way Wick, and for that matter Butler, make it when the likes of Foligno, Winchester, and Zach Smith are ahead of them. The key for both those players will be the season after, 2011-2012, when Kovalev, Ruutu, and Shannon ( Ottawa Senators off-season talk - Page 46 422187 ) come off the books (plus Cheechoo). Then plenty of opportunity to grow from within. Butler is a shoe-in for that season along with the 2010 First rounder Ottawa Senators off-season talk - Page 46 805406
