Where would I rather be? In The Alps making really good money, at home, and really happy. Or in Binghamption, NY making a lot less money with a bunch of hicks? It's a no brainer.

Depends on if he wants to make the NHL. If he perseveres and plays well in Bingo, he'll earn himself an NHL contract - which has the potential to set him up for life.

So does Europe. Playing in Europe is a ton of fun and they make great money... also, he's actually playing at home in Europe. He's leaving a great situation in Europe to take a chance of coming over here, which is still a leap of faith on his part. I give him all the credit in the world for doing it and I wouldnt blame him one bit for going back if he didnt make it.

If he's signed to a two way contract though, can he just pack his Dung and go back to switzerland with the Sens permission?

He can ask out of it for sure which they would probably say yes to. You dont want anyone in The AHL who doesnt want to be there.

Because he made that leap of faith, I could see him sticking in the AHL for a year and seeing if he gets NHL time etc., but yeah, you could be right, he may want nothing to do with Bingo.

City of Bingo or Europe? Make more money or less? It's not even a decision.

There's no way Wick, and for that matter Butler, make it when the likes of Foligno, Winchester, and Zach Smith are ahead of them. The key for both those players will be the season after, 2011-2012, when Kovalev, Ruutu, and Shannon ( Ottawa Senators off-season talk - Page 47 422187 ) come off the books (plus Cheechoo). Then plenty of opportunity to grow from within. Butler is a shoe-in for that season along with the 2010 First rounder Ottawa Senators off-season talk - Page 47 805406

But if this is his only route to the NHL, what choice does he have? I think its more about whether he cares about playing in the NHL over playing in Europe.

Again though, we can assume he has strong interest in playing in the NHL, otherwise he wouldn't even be making the trek up here. So I think he'll take a year in Bingo if need be.

Bass was ahead of all those guys at one point too and he is no where to be seen. BOth Butler and Wick could very well bring some more offense and speed to The Sens that neither of the 3 you mentioned can. Im not saying they are ahead on the depth chart but they will get their shots, especially Wick.

Like I siad, I think with a decent to good camp Wick walks onto The Sens. I also wouldnt be shocked if Foligno was dealt at some point for either a draft pick or to move up in the draft.

Yeah, we'll see what he's made of. If not, he can probably be moved for an AHL D-man. We need some of those.

Of course that's subject to change if foligno or someone else gets traded. Butler and Wick will get their shots, but not at the start of the season unless there's an injury.

I honestly believe Wick is going to make The Sens out of camp baring some sort disaster. You have to see what you have in Wick and see if he's an NHLer, there wont be any waiting for this guy because there are other players Ottawa needs to develope and use. It's not like Wick is a kid.

Wick is probably being promised this and that and he will get his shot. What he does with it will be the determining factor. There are guys waiting in the wings to take that spot in Ottawa and Murray wont hesitate to put the best team on the ice.

Anyone who bashes Murray right now really doesn't get it. I hate to put people down like that, but I question their knowledge of hockey as well.

Pierre Dorion himself just had lunch with Beau Bennett and dropped him off at the airport - personally.

Is Murray thinking of moving down?

Exactly, Ottawa is in a position where they can afford to take a risk with a guy like Wick. There is no reason why Wick doesnt get a 10-15 game look and if he plays well, great, if not then you have Butler, Greening, and Hoffman waiting for a chance.

If they are moving that far down then they very well may have 2 or 3 more picks in the draft.

Yeah, at least a 3rd rounder.

Beau Benett is...good? I can't remember the write up on him.
