You dont need a goaltender this year but it all depends on what Murray is looking for in a goaltender. IMO he will be looking for a NA guy that they can be very patient with and ride him in The AHL. Drafting a Euro would be risky at the position because there is anything but a garentee that he will be in The NHL any time soon.

If there is a goaltender they like very late in the draft, then that's great, if not... tons of time to draft a guy that will suit the organizations needs.

Grubauer would be nice, don't know where he would end up being taken though, he is now 3rd amongst goalies in this draft.

You still need decent grammar to survive in the world. Same as basic math skills and such.

Punctuation is your friend.

i can but it is not really an essential skill to talk on a hockey board and i usually jot my thoughts down and flick on to other posts topics etc

Not on a hockey board no, but in life.

As long as you use punctuation in 'real life' you're set.

There you go..

Basic grammar and punctuation is a must even on message boards. Spelling mistakes are forgiven *cough N4L cough* if your content is of some value.

Paragraphs are also a must if you want people to actually read what you have typed, nobody like to read a block of text.

You can also over punctuate your post, noboday likes someone who comes on a message board to try and prove how smart they are. Basically your post should be at or around the grade six level, much like newspapers and magazines.

Is that the guy that takes common household items, such as scotch tape and toothpaste, and combines them to create explosives to get out of tight situations?

No. That's MacGiver. I think he's talking about McGruber the guy in that new SNL movie.

Wouldnt touch a goaltender within the first 3 or 4 rounds, why would you? You are drafting a goaltender to add depth apon the depth. You are looking for a backup goaltender to step into Ottawa or a number 1 down in Bingo within 4 or 5 years. Why would you waste a pick on a position where you are as strong as anywhere else?

N4L is right, you need to draft the best available forward. None of this best available player garbage; best available forward. Goalie depth is good, defensive depth is great, offensive depth is pitiful.

In the late rounds for sure. In the first round you take the BPA because there is no reasoning (at least logical) that you would give up a potential stud D man if there is one there for a guy who The Sens and Murray really dont want, but he is considered a "skilled center".

If a guy like Gudbranson for example (wont happen) fell to 16th, you really think they are going to go after McFarland? No shot and I would be furious if they did. The 2nd, 3rd, and going on you draft for depth and guys that might fit into the organizations needs.

Not taking the BPA in the 1st round is an absolute disaster waiting to happen.

Unless the BPA turns out to be a bust. But that never happens so this is a surefire strategy for sure.

The only good prospect we have is Lehner, we need more than that. Draft a goalie or two in the later rounds, that's all I want Murray to do. If Grubauer fell to Round 4 then I might take him, it's not like a 4th round forward pick will for sure be a guaranteed great prospect. This is the NHL draft we're talking about, not the NBA or NFL draft.

Well we didn't take the BPA last year, that's for sure.

Do you mean you wouldn't touch a goalie until later rounds for this particular draft or as a general rule. I would assume that Lehner would be the exception if that were the case.

For this draft because we got Lehner last year.

So, who should it have been? And remember one of our highest scouts is a European scout who watches a ton of Swedes play and has been behind Karlsson, Lehner, Silfverberg, Petersson to name a few.
