MPS will make the team out of camp on the worst team in the entire league's roster.

If Dorion said no to MPS, that's one thing but if both Dorion and Forsberg said no to MPS and yes to Cowen you know there's something they didn't like - enough for us to take Cowen instead.

Besides Cowen is a huge talent, already 6'5", 225+, still filling out, he's gonna be Coburn, maybe a little better and that's nothing to sneeze at when we have Karlsson and Wiercioch coming up as well.

I don't know who "Dorion" is, but if MPS turns out to be a stud and Cowen turns out to be just a Coburn...I dunno, man. I just wish we had MPS because we never have exciting forward prospects anymore, they're all "maybes". MPS tears it up wherever he plays! He's like San Jose Michalek but better.

Dallas should feel bad though, they passed on him as well and took Glennie. I'd rather have Cowen than Glennie

I don't see what everyone else does in MPS.

If there's anyone I'm upset about not getting from that draft it's OEL, that kid has been lights out so far in his career and getting better.

Speaking of Wiercioch, I just caught Tim Murray on Healthy Scratches just before supper. If I understood him correctly, he thinks Wiercioch is the closest. He didn't even mention Cowen (he may have after the commercial break, but I had to go in by then).

OEL may very well end up being the best player from that draft, him or Duchene.

Not that there's anything wrong with that!

- Weircioch should be the first call up on defence.
- Cowen - if he doesn't make the team at camp he will be returned to junior
- nothing new on Volchenkov but it doesn't look promising
- they hope to sign one of Cullen or Sutton with an outside shot at signing both. It seems both would like to come back to Ottawa but the cap space is a problem.
- Brodeur has a verbal commitment to resign.
- waiting to hear back from Cowick & Hoffman offers
- Lehner will play in Bingo next season
- talked a little bit about the signing of David Djiurzynski
- talked a little bit about Greening & Gryba's play
- talked about resigning the 4 RFAs, Regin will likely get the biggest raise.
- Loyd & Van Allen talked about Ottawa likely to buy out Cheechoo but not Kovalev because he's over 35 & the full amount I believe I heard would still count against the cap
- Keller resigned.
- Bingo will be very young.

I think it's Peter Dorion and Andrea Forsberg who are the chief scouts for NA and Europe and apparently it wasn't a hard decision. I have no idea why, but these are the guys responsible for Karlsson directly and Wiercioch and Lehner, so when they saw a choice between Cowen and MPS and chose Cowen, I'm prepared to believe in their decision personally.

I wish Forsberg wasn't leaving...Diddle that sucks.

I don't think people realize how important Cowen will be for us. He's be eating 25+ minutes, moving bodies and playing a tough, in the trenches D for us. Plus he can skate and has possible untapped offense - which we'll find out about if he goes back to Spokane I would imagine.

Anything as good or better than Coburn would satisfy me.

I think he might even be better personally, but definitely that kind of D-man.

Coburn was taken 8th overall after all, in the deepest draft in history.

Apparently Volchenkov's house is on the market. Well, it was fun A-Train, I wish you luck wherever you end up.

Did you hear that from Kevin Lie via Liam Maguire?

My co-worker heard it on the radio this morning.

OK. Just so you know, it was "reported" by Liam Maguire last night and he gave credit to Kevin Lie.
