Petersson maybe. That would be siiiiick.

From what I've read, Petersson has no intention of playing in the AHL.

I know Murray has said that Bingo is there just to develop the young guys and put them on the NHL roster but losing year after year can't be helping develop a winning culture. He's got to go out and get some talent for that team and not think only about putting potential NHLers down there to wait for their opportunity. Sign some AHL journeymen like another Hamel type of guy. Fill in the roster with some Veteran AHL players that can produce at that level. I really believe Murray needs to build a contender down there if he hopes to develop his prospects with a winning mentality.

I'm not saying do it in such a way that takes spots away from the prospects either. I'm sure you can have a winning farm team and still develop the young guys.

I nominate Steve Martins and the Ferraro twins.

Talking about Steve Martins and castoffs like such, the Toffoli brothers won 2 of the 3 major awards in the ECHL. Tyler won the points thingie with 106 or something and the other brother Justin won the rookie of the year.

Former 67s "stars" make great career minor leaguers! Sign them up!!! Ottawa Senators off-season talk - Page 7 226479

I don't want cast offs that can't play AHL hockey. I want guys that can't make it in the NHL but excel in the AHL to take roster spots away from scrubs on the team that aren't good enough for Bingo.

We did last year, didn't we? And then cut him (Tyler). Something happened and now I can't recall/can't be bothered looking it up.

Getting Michalek at a reasonable price would be a huge win for us.

Hopefully his brother can pull some strings for us before June 1st Smile

Per Bryan Murray today, to sign Volchenkov will be difficult, they haven't spoken since prior to the playoffs.
Murray did mention that there are younger guys in the mix now.
He spoke about Cowen, told Cowen to get stronger and come to camp, also, mentionned that if he doesn't crack the line up, it's back to junior

In all seriousness, if I were GM, I would have the Michalek's over for a nice dinner. Then, whilst breaking bread with them, I would gingerly bring it up. If he poo-poos the idea, it's still a nice dinner and they can get out by 8 so I can play video games. If he's into signing, then....yeah, I've done my job and no one knows that I've tampered. Smile

- Gryba could be a surprise at training camp but it's likely he will be in Bingo.
- Weircioch should be the first call up on defence.
- Cowen - if he doesn't make the team at camp he will be returned to junior
- nothing new on Volchenkov but it doesn't look promising
- they hope to sign one of Cullen or Sutton with an outside shot at signing both. It seems both would like to come back to Ottawa but the cap space is a problem.
- Brodeur has a verbal commitment to resign.
- waiting to hear back from Cowick & Hoffman offers
- Lehner will play in Bingo next season
- talked a little bit about the signing of David Djiurzynski
- talked a little bit about Greening & Gryba's play
- talked about resigning the 4 RFAs, Regin will likely get the biggest raise.
- Loyd & Van Allen talked about Ottawa likely to buy out Cheechoo but not Kovalev because he's over 35 & the full amount I believe I heard would still count against the cap
- Keller resigned.
- Bingo will be very young.

MPS will make the team out of camp on the worst team in the entire league's roster.

If Dorion said no to MPS, that's one thing but if both Dorion and Forsberg said no to MPS and yes to Cowen you know there's something they didn't like - enough for us to take Cowen instead.

Besides Cowen is a huge talent, already 6'5", 225+, still filling out, he's gonna be Coburn, maybe a little better and that's nothing to sneeze at when we have Karlsson and Wiercioch coming up as well.

I don't know who "Dorion" is, but if MPS turns out to be a stud and Cowen turns out to be just a Coburn...I dunno, man. I just wish we had MPS because we never have exciting forward prospects anymore, they're all "maybes". MPS tears it up wherever he plays! He's like San Jose Michalek but better.

Dallas should feel bad though, they passed on him as well and took Glennie. I'd rather have Cowen than Glennie
