Afiniganov has an amazing year. 4 million bare minimum a year.

Winchester is here for sure next year. He's a solid player and does a lot of little things well, works the PK, can take a regular shift if need be.

Maybe in Russia.

he liked it here andwould probably take a discount for longuer term. as for cullen he's looking for a 3-4 year contract but i heard he might take a pay cut with a longuer term(was it TSN?) so 4 x 2.7? (2.5? Ahhhhh! )
in any case i doubt volchie or michalek are here next year, volchie is looking for 5mill, way to high.

what is regin going to get next year?

I like your enthusiasm, I really do.

The problem is sometimes that dudes who are pending UFAs really have this opportunity to cash in. And we might all like to say Player X should take a discount to stay here - or Player X played so well here, why wouldn't he stay! But the reality is, Sutton is coming off a most impressive playoffs - and teams all know about him. He'll get a raise, probably in the 3.25-3.4 million range X 4 years.

Sutton needs to cash in as well. He'll need a 3 X 3 to even contemplate staying.

That's my opinion.

i read it(and now i went over to a bunch of different sites to find it and coudn't) that cullen would take a discount on a longuer deal.

Isint it nice to wonder out of all our d-prospects who will play

lets say the year after next Cowen, Wiercoch, Karlsson, and Gryba are all playing, man thats a huge change for this team and is going to make our forward group look ancient.

No one is giving him 4 million a year, with his track record I say 1.5-2 mill tops.

He's going to Russia? Why would he do that when he just did what he set out to do: take a small contract to get his name out of the gutter? 61 points, 20 some-odd goals and a threat every time he was on the ice. He'll get paid by the Thrashers.

I read that too somewhere, but I think he means that instead of 3.5-4 for a short deal, he'll take 3.3 for a longer deal. That's what I think he's going for. Maybe we can get him on a 3 million cap hit X 5 years? Long term, but such a useful player that even when he gets to 39, he'll still do good things.

I forgot about Glenn Sather, 4 million might be coming for him....

Nah. He was crappy with Buffalo, but a lot of that had to do with injuries that he sustained and the fact that Buffalo simply isn't that kind of team. This year, he was injury free and he was one of the better forwards for the Thrashers all year long.

Talk about UFAs cashing in, this is one of them. At the minimum he might give the Thrashers a break for giving him a chance this past summer and do a 3 X 3, but I personally can't see anything less than that.
