what would the defensive pairings be.. If we sign michalek i don't think we'd need burns... IMO

I think Michalek could be had for $3.5-4. I wouldnt pay anything more. He's making approx $1.5 this year and to triple his salary would be a bad move. He'd probably take a discount to play with his kid brother anyway.

Phillips - Michalek (Left right matchup, shut down pair)
Burns - Karlsson (right - right, but pure offence)
Kuba - Campoli/Carkner? (Kuba is left, Carks is right, Campoli is left....I don't know....)

uh thanks? Hence the "me no good with proposals" line. But to make it work, there has to be a way to rid ourselves of Kovalev and/or Kuba

i'm more concerned with Burns injury problems.. I don't mind an injury prone forward but not so much one on defence.

true, he's injury prone. But so is Kuba. I would definitely be in favour of sending Kuba packages with others for Burns. Both have same term left on contract, plus both earn about the same (kuba earns 3.7, burns 3.55). Not too huge of a risk IMO.

Then again, why would Minny give up on Burns? Injuries aside, he's got pretty good upside, while Kuba is getting older.
