TSNBobMcKenzie Toronto's Alex Ponikarovsky likely to fetch a second-round pick and a good prospect. L.A. one of many teams interested.

NO WAY! I can't believe that. I seriously have a very hard time believe that they would trade him. He's absolutely their best player, next to Stastny. There's no need to move him at all, plus the Brampton connection with Duchene will be huge. They will have some great chemistry.

You don't. Not without having to dump Kelly Kovalev or maybe someone else.

Jeebus, that's a lot to give up. I like him though.

A) A lot of GM's critized Burke for the $$$ he payed out to Mike K. last summer. He's basically volchenkov but he paid him like he was a Weber.

B) Zidlicky and others are going to sign for reasonable term

C) Anton did not have a great tournament and they treated him like a 5/6 dman on team Russia.

Yeah, I'm starting to realize that there are definitely other fish in the sea.

I'd replace A-Train with Seidenberg if I could (and A-Train was being difficult).

What?

TSNBobMcKenzie

Colorado's Wojtek Wolski is in play
and the Phoenix Coyotes are one team that has shown some interest.

That's just dumb. If true, I would be outraged if I was an Avalanche fan. I haven o idea why they'd do this.

It just makes no sense. They are in a playoff position, why the hell would they move arguably their best player?

Must be attitude or something. Maybe they have to re-sign him and it's too much $$.

Wolski? I'm holding my breath on this one for sure! With Murray's aggresive style at the deadline of going out and securing that final piece of the championship puzzle, we're bound to get him.

No chance Murray gets this guy, not unless Colorado is willing to take one of our 4384303249870524325 defenceman. Hell, there are probably some picks Murray hasn't traded away yet!

Another big fat Diddle YOU to Sens fans on deadline day from Murray.

He'd be worth whatever he wants. I'd pay him between 4-6.5M. Attitude? Doubt it, the kid is as humble as can be. Came from nothing and worked his Donkey off to get where he is today. He's also a product of Stan Butler's system, and he does excellent things for his players. I want McKenzie to get more info and explanation.

I can only see them moving him for a couple of top 6 players, but honestly who would do that?

There is a few players that look quite good in that range IMO. I cannot believe that a draft in 2010 is poor on 2nd round level.
Even if they don't like the players at 50-60, they can use that to trade up or down.
I would have taken quantity over quality in forward prospects because our pool at F is disgusting. Trading 1 2nd rounder is fine for a rental, but 2, I don't think is a good idea.
Could be, but for Andy Sutton, don't think so.

I don't quite get it, just about everyone on this site was screaming for Murray to pick up a top 6 forward and another defenseman, but you didn't want to give up a roster player, and you didn't want to give up any prospects, and you didn't want to give up 2nd round picks.

Do you honestly believe that you could get a 5/6 dman at the trade deadline for a 3rd round pick or worse? Would you have been happy to go into the playoffs with Lee or Campoli instead of Sutton?

Where exactly did I say I didn't want to give up any prospects? I would give anybody not named Wiercioch or Cowen. I would even give Wiercioch if we can get a solid top 4.
A 35 year old depth rental? 3rd/4th rounders + Brian Lee/Obrien ish would have gotten my vote.

Hemmy; aren't you overreacting a little? First off, it's not over yet; second, what do you expect the man to do? It's not like he's NOT getting guys to keep us from getting over the bump. He's gotta do what's sensible; grossly overpaying or mortgaging too much our future would be much more of a Diddle you to the fans that playing it close.

I don't think anyone here is thinking we're a cup contender this year; it's not one deal at the deadline that will change that;

Eheh ... unfortunately, neither you, I or anyone else here gets a vote Sad I wish this was more of a democracy for sure Smile

Do you really think that Lee/Obrien have any worth out in the market place? Obviously the market is way way different than what you think it should be, because Grebeshkov went for a 2nd round pick. Leopold went for a 2nd round pick. Seems to me you've under valued what deadline acquisitions cost.

I never said it did. My point is that Murray consistently trades our picks away for little more than fluff at the deadline. Why is he bothering, that's my point.

How is this move sensible? Depth? We need another defensive d-man behind Phillips, Volchenkov and Carkner? No. We could have used a PMD tenfold more.

Well, it's not over yet but I'm sure the last thing Murray's thinking is "that's great, I'm glad I diddled the fans again this year". Great work!

How many more PMD's do you need over Karlsson, Kuba, and Campoli?

EDIT

How about you mention the PMD's that either are or you think are available to get, that a 2nd round pick we can use to acquire it.
