TRADE DEADLINE BONANZA!

Well, a + here is that we didn't lose anyone off our roster. The 2nd round pick hurts right now, but maybe we'll forget the deeper we get in the playoffs.

As per Mike Russo, and confirmed by TSN, Zidlicky agreed to terms on three year, 12 million deal.

Zidlicky has extended with Minny. 3years 12 Million.

Now...why can't A-Train agree to a deal like that? Am I the only one starting to get pissed off (at him) about this?

Not really...

If it's a late pick Ie 50-60 and there is no one on your board for that range that you like as a player then why not trade it away. It's the same thought as trading down..if you're picking 5th overall and they guy you want is ranked 15th, why not trade down and acquire another 3rd or 4th round pick.

In this case they may not like any of the players ranked in the 50-60 range (hell, maybe they are defensive centers) so they decide to waste the pick on a player to help in the playoffs.

I don't think A-Train is worth even $4M to be honest, but yeah he defi shouldn't get more than this at any cost.

There is a few players that look quite good in that range IMO. I cannot believe that a draft in 2010 is poor on 2nd round level.
Even if they don't like the players at 50-60, they can use that to trade up or down.
I would have taken quantity over quality in forward prospects because our pool at F is disgusting. Trading 1 2nd rounder is fine for a rental, but 2, I don't think is a good idea.
Could be, but for Andy Sutton, don't think so.

Yep, I'd take A-Train at 4 million but anything above that is too much.

There are a couple of things working in Murray's favor.

A) A lot of GM's critized Burke for the $$$ he payed out to Mike K. last summer. He's basically volchenkov but he paid him like he was a Weber.

B) Zidlicky and others are going to sign for reasonable term

C) Anton did not have a great tournament and they treated him like a 5/6 dman on team Russia.

How are we going to afford Volchenkov, Foligno, Regin, etc.

I don't quite get it, just about everyone on this site was screaming for Murray to pick up a top 6 forward and another defenseman, but you didn't want to give up a roster player, and you didn't want to give up any prospects, and you didn't want to give up 2nd round picks.

Do you honestly believe that you could get a 5/6 dman at the trade deadline for a 3rd round pick or worse? Would you have been happy to go into the playoffs with Lee or Campoli instead of Sutton?

TSNBobMcKenzie Toronto's Alex Ponikarovsky likely to fetch a second-round pick and a good prospect. L.A. one of many teams interested.

NO WAY! I can't believe that. I seriously have a very hard time believe that they would trade him. He's absolutely their best player, next to Stastny. There's no need to move him at all, plus the Brampton connection with Duchene will be huge. They will have some great chemistry.
