How so? We're talking about young players that aren't even in the laboratory. And it wouldn't be a "few" young players either.

With only 3 D under contract for next year and Brian "Mr. Minnesota" Lee as part of the deal, it makes plenty of sense. Specially if they are out of the playoff picture in 10 days time.

Well I don't think anyone would miss Lee. But how much trade value does he really have ?

Shannon ? I doubt we'd miss him, and I personally can't wait til that midget is gone. He's disappearing again and is already down on the 4th line. Then again I don't know why anyone would want him, he's not Martin St. Louis by any means.

Cheechoo ? Beaten like a dead horse no one's gonna take this guy. We can dream.

Kelly - Popular guy in the locker room I hear, he centers a pretty effective line and does well on our PP. I doubt Winnie or Smith could just effortlessly replace him.

Picard - Prolly not missed ... but who'd want him ?

Did I miss anyone ? I don't think any of those would land us Whitney or Brunette, without being bundled with our 1st rounder anyway.

Lee could maybe be traded for another disappointing rookie like Brunnstrom or Sheppard perhaps, but that's a lateral move and we'd be rolling the dice.

We're not giving up anything with those players and the Wild would be losing a lot trading Brunette (for example).
