I'm sure he's the odd-man out in Chicago. Unless they can deal Soupy, I guess.

I think Ottawa has to focus on one thing at a time, like re-signing Volcheknov or moving him, before making any other moves for contractually committed players.

Holy Dung....Volchenkov for Sharp? Does that actually make...a lot of sense?
Oh...I Sharp. Sharpie, if you're reading this: come here! We need you.

Makes not much sense for us unless a deal is in the works to send Fisher to Nashville, where he will inevitably end up anyway.
Besides, it doesn't save Chicago any money for next season.
Dash wrote:Hmmm.... $3.9M for Sharp, I thought he was making more than that.
Can't move Fisher at all if we are getting Sharp. Regin-Fisher-Sharp would be an awesome 2nd line and Fisher-Sharp would be one hell of a PK combo.
Volchenkov for Sharp makes sense, and if Chicago moves Sopel and/or, makes even more sense. Could even be:
Sharp, Sopel/Barker + for Volchenkov, Picard?

Well, it saves them 4 million bucks next season, but it creates holes for them.
Fisher to Nashville...hmmm. For...Weber? Haha, yeah right. If Fisher wants to leave, we need a stud defender back, so...yeah, not gonna happen I don't think.

You mean as a rental? Yeah. I'm not so sure teams are interested in renting a player like Volchenkov for hard assets.

And would it be so bad if taking Barker and Sharp for Volchenkov + Picard got us an extra pick, maybe a 2nd?
And Sharp is a winger, the Hawks site has him as a LW, and both Yahoo and Sportsnet have him as a RW. I know he can be a C, but he's pretty much a winger now, which is where we would want and need him.
