I honestly hope not. I'd rather get somebody who could help us out long term. Not another rental like Cullen.

Rental means playoffs. That's the goal here. Long term solutions will be drafted, not traded for.

Why would we trade for Cullen? We aren't even sure if we are going to make the playoffs which was my point.

And you can trade for long term solutions. Chara anyone? I'm not hoping for a rental. I'm hoping for some younger players that may develop and help our team going forward. Sometimes all it takes for a young player on a team is a change of scenery and they will blossom.

Not as far as I know. But I've heard Clouston say more than once that he believes a forward should be able to play in any spot up front.

I wonder if Edmonton would be willing to do a Minnesota/Montreal style trade shipping off under-achievers for one another. One would think a guy like Foligno would flourish under a Pat Quinn type system.

Cullen can be had for probably a late round pick. He's a free-agent at the end of the year, so would be nothing mor than a plug. I think he'd be exactly the kind of plug we need and a guy who could do some damage with the talent here, especially once we are healthy.

You think? I was almost positive he had a worse year than Cogliano last year. Then again, I don't really follow Oilers hockey for much...

i said cogs cuz senschirp was mentioning him as a piece today that was almost moved here... then again senschirp hasn't been very right lately. we do know edmonton is trying to clear house and murray likes cogs.
i'd trade cogs against foligno but i'd much rather it was lee,campoli, picard or shannon in that order. if the oil trades sourray they might just be interested in campoli..
