Also, isn't Kramer coming in from Spokane?

I like that young Kramer kid, he seems like a very intelligent young man and clearly does whatever it takes to make it - which meant changing his game to be a tough guy, and still was able to produce.

Not to mention it allows the Sens to get rid of that numbskull Lessard.

Apparently Andre Benoit may be coming back to Ottawa/Bingo. I guess he's sick of the KHL.

If they can pick up Benoit that's a huge signing for the organization. He will make Bingo a hell of a lot more competitive and knock everyone down the depth chart just a little.

Winning is not of paramount importance, but it is still important in the AHL.

I like your proposed lineup SpezD. As you say, needs a couple vets, but there is some great potential there.

Yes I would like them to win, but if they iced a team that they think can compete and they end up not doing well, then I wouldn't care as long as guys played games and developed well. Playing against other AHLers is the most important thing.

Yes, yes, yes! One of the biggest losses for that team was Benoit. Along with Keller and Smith, he was the straw that stirred the drink from the backend. Sign him!!!

Also you can deduct Zibanejad from the lineup, he won't be in Binghamton.

Because Evan is adamant that he is the best player and will be our top line winger.

Don't like the sound of that right now. The kid needs to have a ridiculous training camp to make the team - and even then, what's the rush? Let him have at least half the season in the AHL and be the first call up.

Heard the same thing last year and he played well enough to get 9 games. He'll be even better this year.

I'll guarantee he is in the NHL at least to start the season.

If Bingo is crap again, you don't want a guy like him playing there. He doesn't need AHL time IMO.

Evan, you have a serious man-crush on him. Don't get me wrong, I too at one point had high hopes, but you really have to take his injuries seriously and his inexperience as well as poor performance in Djurgarden. Doesn't scream someone that wants to try. Silfverberg on the other hand is a completely different story. Told the Sens he wasn't ready, then leads his team to a championship, and is the MVP of both regular season and playoffs.

There's absolutely no basis for that comment. You have no way of even being certain that is the case.

He got 9 games because I am sure Murray wanted him to, win or lose.

Don't forget the Sens also played Winchester on the top line with Spezza and Heatley at one point, and also Bobby Butler. They give people a chance, and it doesn't always work out.

IMO, he needs to go to the AHL and play with Mark Stone and one of Petersson or Prince or Hoffman and start producing in NA, getting comfortable with his game, trying things, learning. MacLean wanted him to stay, I remember that, but he'll get him eventually and it will be for a long time. Again, why not build his confidence in the AHL before thrusting him right into the NHL?

You can't just give or hand over a spot to a player. What has Zibanejad doen to earn a spot over anyone else?

Wow this post has so many things wrong with it. First of all, he did not have a poor performance in Djurgarden. Anyone who expected an 18 y ear old to dominate the SEL was CLUELESS. Only so many can do that. He displayed his skills at the Worlds, and he displayed his skills throughout the season. His team was GARBAGE and he had 3 HEAD COACHES this year. 3! Anyone who stays motivated during that is on another planet. Every player on Djrugarden was affected.

Secondly, I'm not really giving you my OPINION here. I am PREDICTING that he will be in the NHL based on a variety of factors I have and will explain. Doesn't mean I think that's right (which I do).

no his injuries are not serious at all.

And really, yeah, let's compare him to a guy whose 3 years older and was playing in the league for 4 years. Zibanejad played in the league for 25 games or so prior to this season. For Diddle sakes, this is such a case of the shiny new toy syndrome, and people getting their info from some Cussing unknown Swedish guy sitting on his couch.

Go look at how many highly touted Swedes play in the AHL. Answer: close to NONE. People who don't think he has a serious chance of making the Sens next year are not thinking straight, or they're just fickle and have given up on a guy after a year away from the team. Probably the latter.

and that comment of "doesn't scream someone who wants to try"? First you say he had injuries so that should explain some of his "poor performance", then you say he doesn't try? It's either one or the other. He was drafted on such characteristics as work ethic and character. BS that he doesn't want to try. That's a BS comment in my eyes.
