If he even wants a head coaching job anywhere. Don't forget he had heart issues in the playoffs last year.

Think he'll go straight into a HC position? I think it's more likely that he starts as an assistant somewhere.

Hard to do right now - if not impossible, but since I have a moment...

Petersson - Zibanejad - Stone

Hoffman - Da Costa - Prince

Schneider - Pageau - Grant

Hamilton - Dziurinski - veteran

Question marks:

Cannone
Caprousso
Cowick
Lessard

Really, really young lineup. Scary stuff.

Wiercioch - Gryba
Blood - Wideman
Schira - Claesson

I don't like Schira as much as I once did. I'd think about replacing him with a veteran too, but he'll do on the 3rd pairing I guess.

Lehner
Scrub

I'll say it again...young, young, young.

It's certainly possible. Lots of guys have made the jump straight to the NHL from the AHL in recent years. See: Clouston, Cory.

And see Dan Bylsma. In fact, I would sa¥ both were very successful, despite what ppl may wanna spew about Clouston. He was a hard-Donkey but got the job done when he first arrived, and then the season after (AND had to deal with a pouty Kovalev, an oft-injured Leclaire, streaky Elliott, an injured spezza, basically a less than ideal situation). Yes he also had a more talented team to work with but with shoddy goaltending, it doesn't matter what team you have in front. Clearly not the best guy to deal with the vets, but I think he was pretty good with Karlsson.

KK I think can make the jump easily to the big leagues but he may have to settle for an assistant job after the season Bingo just had. I could see both Flames and BJackets looking at him (not sure if columbus coach is permanent or temp).

Never liked Kurt. Not a big fan of American coaches.

Because he had a late 1992 birthday. He'll be 20 years old whereas they will be 19.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau will be there as well.

Good, that's the point of the AHL. They will still have some vets though.

Yes and no. You know how dangerous it is to have a roster full of kids in the pros. I hope they add a couple of killer vets into the bottom six, but my faith is a little low after last summer.

You're only allowed a certain number of older players. I think they're better off just giving spots to the true prospects. It doesn't matter if they win or lose.

Again, highly debatable. Look at how much guys like Keller, Smith, Benoit, Potulny etc helped the prospects that are now in the NHL. A part of me agrees, the other part doesn't want a repeat of last year.

You need to ice a winning team and vets are a huge part of that. Even if they retain Locke (which they won't) that's nothing but a good thing. Winning helps development, it allows players to play with confidence and unafraid of making mistakes.

To that point, guys like Gryba, Wiercoich, Hoffman, Da Costa, and to a lesser extent Lehner need to take on bigger roles as leaders.

You can't say it doesn't matter if they win or lose...it is obviously preferable if they win, as that instills confidence. If you just keep losing you start questioning everything.

Winning is not of paramount importance, but it is still important in the AHL.

I like your proposed lineup SpezD. As you say, needs a couple vets, but there is some great potential there.

Winning wasn't important for years in Bingo and look what happened to Sens prospects.

I like that young Kramer kid, he seems like a very intelligent young man and clearly does whatever it takes to make it - which meant changing his game to be a tough guy, and still was able to produce.

Not to mention it allows the Sens to get rid of that numbskull Lessard.
