I bet he was on the fence about the decision till the sens announced a 3-year extension with Bingo. Laugh1

Bingo had a bad season. They had lost their top 4 D to UFA. And lost 9 of their 12 forwards either not signed, UFA or in Ottawa.

Did not leave much experience for KK to work with and it showed. They had lots of long-term injuries this year that did not help either.

KK is a class act and I wish him the best in his future. I just hope they can get a coach who respects his players and who the players respect like KK... not a Clouston type...

Yeah, the Murray's didn't do a great job in Bingo at all last year. Bringing in Mark Parrish isn't the answer to losing your entire top 6.

It would have been better if Parrish did not get injured. Locke was out long term as well. They signed Bill Sweatt in the off-season and he retired before even playing a game... just a lot of bad luck.

Will still be a young team next season.. but most with 1 more yr experience... adding Blood, Wideman, Prince, Pageau, Zibby & Stone... That's 4 good forwards to start...

Agreed....but we all have to remember that for a player to turn pro comes a lot of growing pains - unless he's a top level prospect. I expect Z-Bad to have success in the AHL - pretty much right away, but guys like Prince and Pageau could take up to half the year to find their feet. Same with a player like Wideman, he could be in for a heck of a shock as to how fast the pros are in relation to the NCAA. Blood saw some games last year I believe, so he might be more prepared.

Ideally we'll have players like Hoffman and Da Costa that are given the responsibility of helping them adapt to the pro life, but if Parrish doesn't return - and let's face it, he was injured too much to make any kind of a difference - who will be the veteran leaders on the team? Wiercioch, Gryba and Boroweicki (if he doesn't make the NHL) will help Blood and Wideman, but if Tim Murray does jack Dung like he did last year, there won't be any Locke or anyone to help the guys down there.

I'd like to defer to the Murrays and say they know what they're doing - and they do at the NHL level, but damn if Tim didn't Diddle up from here to kingdom come last year. Let's hope he doesn't do it again.

Gryba will be in 3rd full year, same with Weircoich, they should be able to shoulder the load at this point and if they can't they don't have much a chance at the next level. They are not kids anymore and the baby gloves can come off. Schira should be able to play a good chunk of time as well.

Blood and Wideman stepping in will be a interesting transition but they absolutely need a vet or two on the blueline to help out.

I am going under the assumption Borowiecki will be up with the Sens and is done in Bingo.

As for their forwards, well they may struggle but Da Costa will be the #1 guy there and will probably be playing between Petersson and Stone. Hoffman, Prince, Zibanejad, will more than likely round out the top 6. Then you have some other guys that will have to play a much bigger role in the bottom 6 going forward.

In goal they HAVE to give Lehner 50-60 games despite how he plays. If he lets in 10 you go right back with him. He's being groomed to be a #1, not some plug that's going to be a career backup.

He might get a look but I doubt they with an unknown guy like KK. Cunnyworth may get a look.

I'd go with KK personally...

Cunneyworth is a nice candidate, but what KK did deserves a long look IMO.

That said, he could take a HC job and fall flat on his face. Who knows...

does anyone know of any coaches that could do the job in Bingo? a coach with some past NHL experience? an ex-player? or a young up and comer?

has anyone compiled a projected line-up for Bingo next season? i'd like to have a look at what it could look like and who makes the jump from the minors.

If he even wants a head coaching job anywhere. Don't forget he had heart issues in the playoffs last year.

Think he'll go straight into a HC position? I think it's more likely that he starts as an assistant somewhere.

Hard to do right now - if not impossible, but since I have a moment...

Petersson - Zibanejad - Stone

Hoffman - Da Costa - Prince

Schneider - Pageau - Grant

Hamilton - Dziurinski - veteran

Question marks:

Cannone
Caprousso
Cowick
Lessard

Really, really young lineup. Scary stuff.

Wiercioch - Gryba
Blood - Wideman
Schira - Claesson

I don't like Schira as much as I once did. I'd think about replacing him with a veteran too, but he'll do on the 3rd pairing I guess.

Lehner
Scrub

I'll say it again...young, young, young.
