Yeah, no way I'd do that. I thought the Sens wanted to shed their big salary.

Boyle's damn good, but no chance I move Volchenkov in any deal.

Boyle's damn good but that contract is damn long.

We could have had him for Meszaros. No way we now trade Heatley and Volchenkov for him and a salary dump.

If Volchenkov were to be dealt, it's because Murray already knows that he can't resign him. I wouldn't want to deal him though.

Me either...I'd rather roll the dice heading into his contract year. This supposed Boyle offer is crap, for a number of reason already pointed out by a few people. I doubt Murray even entertains this.

for certain that at this point there is no press conference scheduled.

to an email I received recently it sounds as though the Sharks may be
slowly fading out of the picture. They haven't budged from their Cheechoo stance and that will not be enough to get it done. Plain and simple.

Rumours
indicate that the Wild and Senators continue to talk at this hour.
Can't say for certain if a deal is any closer but the fact that they
are still talking is a good sign I suppose. Nothing new from the
Rangers today which more than likely means they are backing off.

I'm hoping to have one more update before the night is out.

(UPDATE- 11:21 PM)- I really wish I had some positive news to pass on here but I really don't.
All indications are the Wild and Senators are still trying to get
something done but they are no closer than they were this morning.

Seems as though the 'deadline' will come and go with Dany Heatley still a member of the Ottawa Senators. I guess I really shouldn't
be surprised but I really had a sense there was a deal to be made
today. Gotta admire the patience of Bryan Murray throughout the process though. He refuses to give Dany away and will not bend from his asking price.

Hard to say how things will change with the deadline come and gone. I'm sure theres still a trade to be had with the Wild but Murray must now start to prepare for life with Dany Heatley and evaluate his roster accordingly.

Here's hoping something breaks over the course of the weekend.

If and when it happens, Heatley will get traded on a quiet Tuesday afternoon late in August to an unexpected team, with no one chatting about anything imminent whatsoever.

Senschirp is making himself look bad. And I'm inclined to think he actually does have sources. But when those sources are themselves conflicting and he's reporting on them almost hourly, it's hard to see how they're of much value.

At least I did not get as hyped as I did on July 1. I watched the threads but I kinda knew he wasn't being moved.
