Interesting Beedub. Until Heatley comes out of hiding, this is a viable option for his behavior.
That or he has Dung for brains.

They absolutely need to do something now. Sorry Edmonton, but I really don't think you're getting Dany, so you need to do something and quick.
With all the trouble he's caused in Ottawa, I think Heatley will pick "the lesser of two evils" and go to Edmonton.
I think he's stubbornly holding out thinking Murray can still land a deal with one of the teams on his list, unless there is serious ongoing talks with other teams him and his agents are privy to.
But once he gets it through his thick skull that it's not happening I think he'll go. I just can't see him coming back if he has any choice in the matter, it's even worse now as he probably blames BM and the Sens for not getting a trade done earlier (with the Rangers for example).
As for Edmonton, can't really blame them too much for desperately trying to improve their team.

Really? 4 years later it rears it's ugly head?
I'm not disagreeing, what he went through must have been hell, but do you really think he's suffering from that?

To be honest with you, I think this is the lesser of two evils to him. To stay here. Even after all the crap he started here. I'm sure his fiancée is even more against going to Edmonton than staying here, and he might feel the same way.
Way to go Dany!

Alfie? Volchenkov? These are the guys that actually deserve one. They want to raise their families here and not have to uproot them without having a say.
I can see the NTC, the NMC are ridiculous.

Volchenkov has one? Really? I had no idea.
Those guys are loyal though, I wouldn't be worried about them asking for a trade. Mind you, I might have said the same thing about Heatley...

I'm not expert on PTSD, but he seemed pretty damn hunky dory between the time he arrived in Ottawa and the day he morphed into a hard C.
This is a guy who penned a book calledDynamiteDominant Dany Heatley. He's all about himself and nothing but.
Edit: I had the title incorrect. I think the sequel should be called Richard Cranium Dany Heatley.

If people are heaping praise on you non-stop, your self-confidence and self-worth are at an all time high.
Think about it, if you accomplish something big and people are lauding you left right and center, do you not instantly feel better, on top of the world.
You're average person will be able to shrug off constructive critisim, learn from it in fact.
But you take someone suffering from a mental illness and that criticism all of a sudden is akin to someone beating you down with brass knuckles.
Take Chris Neil. Here is a guy when people boo at him, he eggs them on, almost taunting them. There is guy who can take criticism and scorn and feed from it.
Take Jason Spezza. Thank god for him that he can take criticism, otherwise he'd be a pile of mush in a hospital bed in some mental health facility for all the Dung he takes (I am the first to be critical of him)

Well you may be right.
But he's actually MET and spoken with several members of the Oilers organization but won't extend the same courtesy to the Sens. I'll bet the Oilers know more about his reasons for leaving then anyone in Ottawa.
It's like he's going out of his way to burn bridges in Ottawa right down to taking 4 million dollars of Melnyk's money that he doesn't deserve.

He doesn't I don't believe. I think the point was that if anyone should get one, Volchie should.
Actually he answered their phone call, unlike Alfie's!SensGirl11 wrote:Hoags wrote:SensGirl11 wrote:

I don't know what to think anymore. He clearly doesn't want to go to Edmonton though, even if he has talked to them. I don't know...very strange situation. He keeps shafting Edmonton though, even after they met with him, he again refused the trade. It's really no skin off his back.

It sounds like he's going to stay a Senator on all accounts.

Who knows?
