Not only does he have to approve the deal but also make a list of teams he can be dealt to. The number of teams we can trade with are actually very limited because of that fact.

My guess is Heatley wants nothing to do with Canadian media, LA is a big market with big bucks.

Requesting a trade also kills a lot of leverage you have with a team.

LA never has to ever worry about a winger again. Ottawa gets so much better, I could Dung my pants.

You're dreaming about Doughty.

He's going to LA, you watch.

Dustin Brown then. What else do they have to offer? Doughty...? Oh Diddle.
.

We could go for some of their talent and picks... Then we could make a serious bid for Bouwmeester with all the cap space we'll save. Maybe get Bryan Boyle and Thomas Hickey, while also swapping first and getting their 2nd.

I don't think he has to do that though. He wanted the NMC so that he would have complete control over where he was traded if it ever happened so why would he waive it?

All I have to say about this is; Dany Heatley = LOSER!

What is with this guy? Did this organization not do enough for him? We put ourselves out on a limb for him, unbelievable!

Whatever dude! GOOD RIDDANCE!

And with their young team, they are on the rise... I mean him with Kopitar will be pretty deadly.

If he gets dealt to LA guys, Brown and Doughty are not coming back. If I'm wrong about that, I'll gladly eat my words, but it's not happening. One is their star rookie who could end up being a super star. The other is their captain who is signed to the best deal in the league, next 5 years at 3.2 mil.

Frolov coming back with Tuebert and their 1st should be enough to get it done.

2 teams, 2 requested trades. 2 deaths as well, his friend and now probably his career.

Murray doesnt have to trade him though. Murray will get the best deal he can or tell him to keep playing.

Maybe this is what we needed in order to become a stronger organization. Let's get as much as we can for him and turn this team into the team it should be.

This wasn't the guy I expected to see out of here, but, one of them had to go.

Make a pitch for Hossa. Get as many pieces as possible for Heatley (quality guys)

We need guys that WANT to be here, Heatley clearly does not. He showed it all last season too.

Those clauses only give the power to the player to prevent him from being traded. He's requesting out and that gives Ottawa the power. Simply put, you want out, we get to send you the place that makes the most sense for us, otherwise stay where you don't want to be.

Advantage Murray. I posted a long time ago that I saw either Spezza or Heatley going out to LA for dmen and their pick, and I always thought it would be Spezza because the NTC doesn't kick in until next year. Maybe I was wrong.

I always thought with all the C's that L.A. had and the fact that Frolov was the only real good LW they had that Heatley would be a great fit, but I never saw him waiving his NMC.

Time will tell, but Ottawa could end up with something like,

Heatley and Ottawa's 9th
for

Johnson, Tuebert/Hickey and LA's 4th

Heater back to Atlanta for Little + a first or Bogosian + a first, or to be completely overvaluing Heatley, Little, Bogosian, + that first.

Seriously, if we add Teubert, Jared Cowen and MPS in one day, we probably have the best group of prospects in the league :*:

True, kinda like the McCabe situation I guess. Eventually Heater might have to settle for a team he didn't originally want to be on.

I dont like you buy you're right here.

The trade, not so much.

Heatley and Lee for Tubert, Frolov and LA 1st. That makes a lot of sense on a lot of levels. Johnson is a guy to stay away from.

Senschirp has word of this too, let the speculation begin, Murray can field the calls, just can't make any moves until the playoffs are done and that 1 week grace period.

Karlsson, Wiercioch, Tubert, O'Brien, Regin, two of MPS/Kane/Kassian/ pick what ever 4-10 player you want.

Our goaltending is set for the next decade perhaps, we have Spezza, who now is FORCED to be more mature and a leader, absolutly forced to and Heatley leaving will make him a better player. Who knows who we add through free agency.

This is a great day for Ottawa.
