I didn't get that from the conversation. Stacey indicated that Kypreos was "100% right" in his discussion with John Garrett last night and that Garrett was "100% wrong". The position Garrett took was that he may not want to be in another pressure cooker or even in Canada. Kypreos was of the opinion that Heater wouldn't mind a trade to another Canadian city.

That's not what his agent said though... see my post above.

As long as Edmonton and LA are in the sweeps, the Sens are fine. If those are the only 2 teams on that list, the Sens are set.

i also don't see how this could go wrong for ottawa... if anybody is able to handle this, murray is. the man can be a brute. he'll tear heatley a new a****les before he trades him away for nothing. i can see this deal not going thru even till the next trade deadline. if that happens(and the sens miss the playoffs) we have a run at Nash or kovalchuk. Sarcasm
this will surely be the source of all rumours this summer, surpacing Sundin.

Hopefully this doesn't get nasty... otherwise we could be looking at another holdout situation in the new season...

Heatley and his agent know that a hold-out will only hurt his stock. Not our club's. If he holds out, it only looks bad on him. Very bad.

Then Heatley gets suspended without pay and off the cap.

If we end up signing J Bo out of this The Sens have not only turned the corner in the East but might have just become the perenial favorite in the North East with a sh it load of prospects.

Neely4Life wrote:Yup, he sure does. Hopefully he put Edmonton on that list though, because that will be the key to getting the best possible deal. Ottawa needs Heatley to accept a place like Edmonton, and close to home it might be a possibility.

LA is making more, and more, and more sense though.

LA has some intriguing prospects too, but do not include Jack Johnson, besides I heard a rumour about him today to Tampa Bay plus a few other pieces for Vinny since Tampa is trying to draft Tavares.

I actually hope it does get nasty. Could be entertaining.

Sorry, I might have misunderstood that to be honest. My buddy said the same.

You have to think he's scared of the pressure though.

Think of the coaches: Quinn and Renney? :^^^^: They'll kick your arse if you're lazy (and you are).

I would say Heatley is more desirable to LA than Lecalvier would be. Smaller cap hit, 1/2 as many years, fills a bigger need. Heatley asking for a trade may very well end up sending Vinny to Montreal.

PKC wrote:I still think there's a hell of a deal to be made with Edmonton. We should be able to get Cogliano, Gilbert, Eberle and their 10th overall.

In one trade we could add those three guys plus two of OEL, Kulikov, Kadri, Kassian, or Schroeder.

That is a bonafide lineup of youth right there. With the mix of roster players we have right now AND the prospect pool we're starting to develop...I'm starting to feel warm inside at the idea of the whole thing.

Cogliano and their 10th maybe...I highly doubt they deal Cogs...I know, we're talking about a former 50 goal scorer but Cogliano is already very good with lots of potential. Swap gagner for cogs in your deal.

true enough, might be another detractor against Heatley wanting to pick edmonton, he knows Quinn will kick his Donkey into the ground.
