It might even be realer than a lot of the other Dung we read about day after day. Or it might not.

Remember when "accountability" was the buzzword for the 08-09 Senators? I thought that was real too.

Time will tell.

The fact that it's coming from Bob McKenzie goes a long way...

We'll see.

Makenzie's been on the Quinn train for a while, so that rumour must be out there. The other two names just popped up recently, and the fact that he's backing up the Sun and other rags like that is...pretty big really.

As heard on Team 990 from Bob McKenzie.

The "NEW and IMPROVED" part has been bolded for ease of reference.

Thank you.
Suspect I need to know the context of the statement. I trust McKenzie when he says something because he is very deliberate in the way he phrases and responds to things. He takes significant pains to avoid being an Eklund. He filters and verifies...
Was he saying it like it was virtually done? Or was he simply passing along something he had heard through the grapevine?

HOLY S**T!! Is it finally happening?

Here's my take, and I would love to hear what you all think:

If this shakeup, as reported by MacKenzie on Team 990, occurs or happens AS IS, does that mean the NEW bosses expect the team to turn around?
If so, I have to say, I was starting to get used to the losing and looking forward to the possibility of landing Tavares and/or Hedman...

Besides whipping the boys into shape as Quinn is supposedly a master at doing, what could Stevie Y do to make this team INSTANTLY accountable and better?

Gee...I hope not. I want a top 5 pick.

Exactly... Can anyone attest to this?

Other than that Murray has not been the problem in my books. He won the Tampa trade outright. He got us character players to start the year. The room is just poison. That falls on leadership of the team. Phillips has been piss poor and he is one I would like to see go. Alfie is worn down I think but he has been horrible lately. And Heatly is wearing an 'A' and he has been awful.

Perhaps the cheapest solution, give Smith an 'A' and give Neil or Donovan an 'A'. Strip the other two jokers. I would even think of relieving Alfie of the 'C'.

finally someone agrees with me....

Does anyone have the text of what McKenzie said? Was he just suggesting this would "make sense" or was he saying "this was the deal that was going to go down"?

Can't we keep Murray as the head Scout? I really don't want him fired personally. Especially after his astute drafting.

Without having a transcript, McKenzie ALWAYS says "make sense" and never commits to a deal going down until after the fact when he says it's "been in the works for some time".

I too don't want to see Murray go, because his drafting has been quite good.

If the rumors are true, I only hope Stevie had a good mentor to show him the ropes...

He said something similar on TSN the other night, but I took it as a "I can see..." rather than a "this is going to happen...."

Make that two people. I wouldn't strip Alfredsson of the C quite yet...It may be a Modano situation further down the line, but we don't have a suitable replacement for him.
Stripping Phillips is one possibility, but making Heatley an A was the most ridiculous move I've ever seen. Heatley can be as loud as he wants to be; he will never be the leader he fooled Hartsburg into thinking he was. Stripping him of the A is the least that should be done.

And can Yzerman suit up as the 2nd line center? He'd have more points at 40 than Fisher and Vermette combined. It would take him around a week.

I would suspect that if this goes down as indicated, it's because Melnyk feels that the entire organization needs a change of attitude and direction. I would also guess that he'd be doing this for the future, not for an immediate turn around. If this happened, I would then expect the "group of three" to dismantle the Sens, get picks and take advantage of the next two strong drafts to rebuild and re-mold the Sens organization.

Even if he could, he still couldn't play the point on the 1st PP unit like Mighty Mike can.
