Ottawa's defence was excellent too. Great stick work (when they weren't broken lol), good use of the body pushing people off the puck, great shot blocking, killing back to back 5-on-3's.... Kovalchuk must have been so frustrated.

I dunno. Kovalchuk's not a UFA at the end of this season, so his value is pretty high.
I think they're far more likely either to target a young top player like one in the draft, or deal young assets like Little/Bogosian/1st/Lehtonen for a top-notch centreman/some other help to try to convince Kovy to stay.
