"Thrash 'n' burn!"

The Ottawa Senators (21-33-9, 51 pts) visit the Atlanta Thrashers (26-27-11, 63 pts ) Thursday night in the first of back to back games for the Senators. Ottawa is coming off of a one to nothing home loss to the Bruins in a game, at least on paper, that should have been lambs to the slaughter. The Sens were playing better than the Bruins for most of the night and may have ended up with the W if Spezza hadn't lost his ability to hit the net (4 missed shots) and had he made good on his breakaway.

Atlanta continues their tail spin as they lost to the Habs, in large part, due to Carey Price and his 40 saves. The Thrashers are struggling to find a way to score despite putting up large shot counts so this may hurt tank nation a little as I see Ottawa being able to hold the fort against an offensively challenged team like Atlanta.

It will be interesting to see if McLihney...(sp) will get the start tonight. Hopefully he shows he is somewhat worth taking a 2nd look at him and not wasting time going out and getting a backup. We'll see.

Be nice to seeing Greening get his first as well.

Good point. With it being back to back and ATL on the road and the seemingly weaker opponent (See anemic offense) it does make sense.

It'll be interesting to see if he's just there as a warm body or if they actually want to give him a chance to be a backup.

They said he would play one of the next 2 games, this would see like the logical choice. Get him in there and see what ya got.

I edited my first post and took out Anderson and replaced it with Ottawa. Smile

I'm interested to see how Curtis M. does. Yeah I'm going with that rather than butcher his last name.

I guess we'll see Curtis at home? Very strange.

Gives him an extra day to work in the new gear. Kind of makes sense.

I just mean having him play at home with the current love fest for Anderson.

Yeah I know, I'm just coming up with BS why I was wrong about him getting the start tonight. Tomorrow based on what was said, he should be in nets.

I'm not real sure I understand why Anderson is starting - even if McEl doesn't have all his equipment.

I wonder if this was Anderson's decision. Perhaps, like most true number one goalies, they leave starting up to the number one to a point of course. It's looking more and more likely that Curtis was just brought in to fill a spot on the bench. I could be wrong though.
