Gonchar is wearing the other 'A'??? Who has to get injured before Neil gets a letter??? Does Clouston just hate him or something?

That's a little strong but yes.

We're winning? Diddle.

Atlanta is not a team we can afford to drop 2 points to.

I am getting very excited for this teams future, just watching this team is more exciting then it was 2, 3 months ago. Faster, harder working, better attitude, everything. Next year is going to be great win or lose because a new TEAM is being built.

Butler/Spezza/Michalek
Alfi/Regin/Landeskog
Neil/Smith/Foligno
Condra/Winchester/Greening
Shannon

Lee/Phillips
Karlsson/Cowen
Rundblad/Gonchar
Carkner

Nice of you to pencil yourself into the lineup there. Wink

Why not just start then? Laugh1

Because no one will take Anderson out of the net, he's the guy that is finally going to play 65-70 games for The Sens and play well for 90% of them. It doesn't matter who the backup is.

It'll certainly matter if he doesn't re-sign here, but I see your point. I'm not taking his re-signing for granted though.

That's not good though, IMO. 70 games is a lot and he will get fatigued like hie did last year (71 GP last year).

Actually I think these are the teams we can afford to beat, the teams that are battling to make the playoffs, but not in it. So they are far enough ahead of us that beating them doesn't mean they'll catch up to us, but still not so far that they are really good an 'should' beat us. It's the top teams that we can't afford to beat because they 'should' beat us. And we can't afford to beat the teams directly around us a la Islanders, Edmonton, Colorado, and Florida.

I'm not worried about catching ATL. I'm worried about catching one of the teams you mentioned. Two points is two points though, regardless of where it comes from, in the end. About the only teams I cannot cheer for the Sens to lose are the Habs, Leafs and the Preds (and we don't play them again).

All Ottawa needs to do is make a run for the playoffs, that's it. Anderson playing 70 games is exactly what the team needs and probably what he wants. That's the way it is right now and probably will be for a couple of years.

I guess fatigue doesn't really matter though, as I don't see this team in the playoff hunt for a while.

With Anderson they will 100% be in the hunt, not saying they will get there but they won't be out of it like they are right now. With teams like Florida, Atlanta, and NYI in the east, Ottawa will be right there until the end.
